Alton Ralph Thingvold, 94 of Bellevue, WA passed away peacefully on Saturday October 12th, 2024, at the Avista Senior Living center in Sumner, WA where he resided for the past year and a half.

The 5th child of Edwin and Olga (Sveum) Thingvold, Alton was born on the family farm on November 21, 1929, where he grew up. He attended school at the South Valley Country School and Barton School before going on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. While in the Air Force, he spent time in Korea and finished his service stationed in Moses Lake, WA. He returned to Barton and farmed for several years. His daughters, Sheryl and Sandy, were born in Rugby, ND. He moved his family to Washington in the early 1960's where he made a career in the commercial construction industry building Safeway stores, banks and many other commercial buildings. He was remarried in 1968 to Janet Dickison. Alton and Janet traveled frequently to the Bahamas and other destinations.

Alton is survived by his daughters Sheryl Metzger (Marc) of Spanaway, WA, Sandy Rogers (Bob) of Tonasket, WA, Stepson Craig Dickison of Sammamish, WA and Daughter-in-Law Julie Dickison of Bellevue, WA. Alton has 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Also surviving are sisters Mary Juergens, Carol Torgerson and Norma Klebe; brothers: Gordon and Dennis Thingvold.

Alton was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; stepson Mark Dickison; parents Edwin and Olga (Sveum) Thingvold; sisters: Ann Dissette, Delores Johnson, Dorothy Blessum and Gladys Thingvold; brothers: Edward, James, Donald and Rudolph Thingvold.

Graveside service will be held on November 13, 2024, at 11:30 am at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
