Alvaretta Gloutney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 13 to Oct. 14, 2005.
GLOUTNEY, Alvaretta. 1911 - 2005. Our beloved "Alvie" and "Aunt Al" left us on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the proud age of ninety-four, after a full life lived with much humor and according to her own unique set of convictions. Loving, quirky, fiercely loyal and true, she believed with an unwavering faith in those she nurtured under her wing. Family and friends were always welcomed into her home and heart, sharing in her hospitality, sense of fun and a good discussion. She did much, gave much and touched many. Her departure leaves an unbearable void; we cherish her memory and example and hold fast to our deep and everlasting love for our one and only Alvaretta. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2005 in the chapel of the Centre funeraire Cote des Neiges Inc., Reseau Dignite, 4525 Cote des Neiges Road, Montreal, Quebec, H3V 1E7, 514-342-8000. Interment will follow at Cote des Neiges Cemetery, plot R89 at 3 p.m. You may send your condolences to the family at www.mem.com . We wish to thank the staff of the 6th floor Geriatric Unit of the Jewish General Hospital for their care and caring. Forever in our hearts, this is not a goodbye Alvie, but a celebration of your life.
