Alvie Green

GREEN, ALVIE Alvie Green was born February 3, 1921, in Three League Bayou, Natchitoches, LA. She was the eldest of five children born to Mary Wafer Banks and Simuel Banks. She departed this life after 88 years of love, giving, sharing and caring on Wednesday May 6, 2009, in San Diego, CA. She moved to San Diego to join her military husband Willie Green in 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Green, her parents, her daughter, Ether Green Hailey, two sons, Glen and Edward, three brothers and a grandson. She is survived by her sister, Jennie McKissack, brother-in-law Lucius, four sons, Wilmer, Eirven, Willie, and Bernard Green, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Euclid Avenue, in San Diego, CA, May 15, 2009, at 1 p.m.
