Aug. 21, 1961 - April 19, 2022
Alvin James Martin, 60, formerly of Bryan passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Waldorf, MD. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Jones-Washington Mortuary. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery in Bryan with interment alongside his mother. Memorial services in La Plata, MD were held on Friday April 29, 2022.
Alvin was born in Los Angeles, CA to Barbara Jean Dix and Louis Martin and he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Helen and Jesse Dix. All preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Debra McCall Martin of Ft. Washington, MD; sister, Yolanda Martin; his aunt and uncle, Hiawatha Dix and James Godine, III of College Station Texas; cousins, Jill Godine- Flynn, Evan and Kyle Flynn, Anne Collins Vance of Ft. Washington, MD, and Ruth Smothers Thomas of Bryan, Texas; a host of other cousins and many friends.
