Mt very 1st Deacon. Alvin had a spark that you couldn't put out. He loved hard and had your back. He was my go to guy and my friend. I could count on him and when things got tough he knew he I had his back. We think of him often and the smiles he brought to us. He is looking down from heaven knowing that we are good. Uncle Alvin,
It's still hard to believe that you're gone. I know you're smiling so hard right now because the saints just beat the chiefs 17-13. You by far have the best seats in the house looking down on your boys. I'll miss coming to Houston and spending time with you, talking and laughing. We would always bet on how many times Nanny would call, your phone would ring and you would say, "there she go"!! I'll make sure to buy the most expensive candy toppings for the ice cream. I learned to play suduko and I promise, I'll teach Nanny. I know this is not a goodbye and watch over us. I'll see you later and make sure you show them how to "wipe it off" up there in heaven.
Nanny, Darrolyn, and Ash I'm only a phone call/ megabus ticket away. I love you guys with all my heart and I will continue to pray for y'all strength.
Ash- continue to make your daddy proud. He has one of the smartest little girls in the world.

Well my brother you have gone home to rest and be at peace with our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Your struggles are over. I find myself often shedding a tear for you but I know you are in a better place. It's football season and even though I am not a saints fan somewhere at some point I will do a special cheer for you. Rolonda and Ashlyn, I am praying for you and I am confident that God will give you peace in the midst of this chaos. God blessed you to have Alvin in your lives for a short time and to create some beautiful memories and you now have those memories to hang on to and to remember Alvin. I know it's tough and you're hurting now, but God will wipe away all tears and give you the comfort you need to know that Alvin is at peace and resting with our Lord and Savior.

My Dearest Husband Alvin, As I sit at the computer and type this message with tears in my eyes it seems surreal that you are not with me on Earth anymore. I am thankful to God that we had so many wonderful years together. We have 3 beautiful daughters Darrolyn, Alvionne, and Ashlyn and our granddaughter Ty'e that will carry your name on. You had such a beautiful spirit and a smile like no other. Your sense of humor I think about often. You were a wealth of knowledge and music trivia was a strength for you. You probably had seen every movie that came out and I am sure you have found one to watch in HEAVEN. You have joined the other SAINTS cheerleaders in HEAVEN! Ashlyn and her friends talk about you all the time and the boys think you had some swag in rapping.(smile)You were a blessing to all you touched and for that I am eternally thankful. I am sad that you had to leave but I know that you have no more pain and suffering. There are so many small things I think about and miss you even more. Alvin I loved you and I always will. I miss you today, tomorrow and ALWAYS! I have so many memories that I hold near and dear to my heart. My mom misses her smoke and going to the place buddy. I had an opportunity to meet an awesome person when I met Alvin in May. He came to Ferriday, LA for a weekend to attend my cousin's high school graduation along with his wife Rolonda. Within that timeframe, we also attended my uncle's funeral. So we were literally in a family oriented atmosphere. Alvin fell right in and became a part of our family in that short period of time simply because he was an authentic person. He was a real and genuine individual and I gathered that information over a weekend. That's how real he was. He was a Great person!! You just don't meet people like that all of the time. I pray that his entire family trust in God and be blessed!!

I have never told you this, but I looked forward to those calls. I always hear people say "give me my flowers or my love while I am here" I never gave you flowers nor did I say I Love You.
