Alvis Tucker Jr Obituary
Allie was known for his gentleness, kindness, sense of humor and love for his family. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He passed on his love for travel, the arts and nature to his family. He was lovingly known as Papa by his adoring grand children and great grand children.
He graduated from Redemptorist High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in electrical engineering. He went on to pursue a diverse career which included: General Electric, Oeco, OHSU School of Medicine and the US Postal Service. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Priscilla "Patty" Tarplee Tucker; children, Priscilla "Anne" Tucker Lee (Warren), "Alan" Anthony Tucker (Pamela) and Julia "Lynn" Tucker Gauthier (Steven); grandchildren, Bart Herndon (Kelly), Jennifer Frye (Jeffrey), Sean Lee (Chelsea), Ashley Tucker (Michael Pettis), Jackie Gauthier, Shane Gauthier; great grandchildren, Neya, Carley, Ava, Kinley, Mallory, Bohen, Noah, Finley, Rilo, Dash (AKA Dot Dot); brother, Pat Tucker (Sylvia). And he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and Julia Tucker and granddaughter, Lauren Herndon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mote Marine.

i just found out yesterday of Alvis´s passing. My condolences to Patty and the family.
I knew Alvis for 67 years. I first met my friend Alvis back in the 50´s when we both were attending LSU in order to get a degree in Electrical Engineering. Over the years we used to keep in touch with occasional phone calls to catch up on what was happening in our lives. I have many fond memories of Alvis and I `brown bagging´ in-between classes at LSU having lunch beside the LSU lake in Baton Rouge. Both of us were avid photographers and made many trips on the Atchafalaya River in Louisiana taking lots of pictures of the wildlife and fauna on the river. I´ll miss him.
