Amanda Lorenzen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 24, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Amanda Catherine Lorenzen, beloved mother, sister, and friend. Amanda left this world on September 15, 2025, in San Francisco, California, at the age of 50, due to complications from Covid.

Born on April 17, 1975, in Tom's River, New Jersey, Amanda was the cherished daughter of Richard Lang and Rosie Donnan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Donnan, and her stepmother, Elizabeth Brooking. Amanda is survived by her four amazing children, Layla, Nina, Vincent and Aubrey Lorenzen. She is also survived by her brothers, Jeremy and Tyler, and her sister Cassidy, as well as her father and stepmother, Richard and Sharon Lang and stepfather Don Donnan, who will miss her deeply.

Amanda was educated at Mercy High School in San Francisco and later at San Marin High School in Novato, California. Her caring nature led her to work as a nanny and caregiver for working families, where she found fulfillment in supporting others and working with children. However, her ultimate fulfillment and joy came with the births of her own four children.

An artist at heart, Amanda had a passion for photography, scrapbooking, then painting. She found beauty in the world around her and captured it through her lens in her artwork. An avid horseback rider in her younger days, she loved connecting with animals, especially dogs, enjoying the companionship they provided. Amanda's love for jewelry showcased her vibrant personality and flair for creativity, often adorning herself with pieces that told a story.

The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by the nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit at UCSF, San Francisco, whose dedication and support shone brightly during Amanda's final days. We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Amanda's childhood best friend, Debbie Jennings, who stood faithfully by her side throughout her life, providing love and support through thick and thin.

A celebration of Amanda's life will be held in Novato at a later date. In honor of her generous spirit, the family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Marin County or San Francisco Food Banks, organizations that resonated with Amanda's commitment to helping those in need.

Amanda Lorenzen was a vivacious woman whose laughter, love, and artistic spirit touched the lives of many. Her legacy will live on through her family and many friends. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
