Amanda Nicole Peyton, 18, of Belle Rive, died at 1:02 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, in rural Mt. Vernon as the result of an automobile accident.
Amanda was born Jan. 2, 1992, in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of Ron and Michele (Apgar) Peyton. Amanda was a senior at Mt. Vernon Township High School.
She is survived by her parents; a brother, Donny Peyton of Belle Rive ; paternal grandmother, Jackie Hayes of Belle Rive; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Earleen Apgar of Texico; paternal greatgrandparents, John and Dorothy Lemmon of Wayne City; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ed McCormick and paternal step grandfather Michael Hayes.
Amanda was a loving daughter, sister and granddaughter. She loved to hang out with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Interment will follow at Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Amanda Peyton family and will be accepted at the funeral home.

To the parents of Amanda,
I know how you feel, I lost my son just a few months ago, the pain is still there each and everyday, I still cry , I get mad, I yell at God for taking my child, surround yourself with family at this time, let them come in and comfort you in anyway they can, thet them take take some of your sorrow, I pray that your family will find some peace, I pray that God lays his loving had on your entire family, and Amanda's extened family with all her firends.
