Our dearest Amber Lee Carlson, 28, returned home to our Heavenly Father on August 26, 2011. She was born on October 18, 1982 in Palo Alto, California to James Wichtendahl and Jenny Kovalenko, and adopted by Jerry and Elizabeth Carlson. She attended Central High School. Amber was a loving mother to her two little angels, Isaiah and Rome who she referred to as "her world." Her beautiful smile will be missed by all. The light in her soul would brighten up every person she came across. She gave her heart and never asked for anything in return. Amber was a rare and exotic flower, a butterfly that bloomed into our guardian angel. We know that you are in a better place and are looking down on all of us. Rest in peace our beautiful daughter, sister, mother, and friend. You will never be forgotten.
Amber is survived by her little angels, Isaiah Julian Deardurff, Rome Elijah Haynes; birth mother, Jenny Kovalenko; adoptive parents, Jerry and Elizabeth Carlson; siblings, Clay Carlson, Jaci Carlson, Marianne Carlson, Dahn Gutierrez, Vinnie Kovalenko, Katie Kovalenko, Tyler Garcia. She is preceded in death by her birth father, James Wichtendahl and grandfather, LaMar H. Carlson and Marianne Colon.
Funeral services for Amber will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Following the service there will be a luncheon for close family and friends at 4957 Lariat Drive, West Valley City, UT from 2 until 4 p.m. A Memorial Fund has been set up in Amber's name at any Mountain America Credit Credit Union.

Amber was the most incredible, selfless, and genuine person in the whole world, she was SO incredibly beautiful inside and out .....
My beautiful sister, My best friend, My twin :), My everything.
There are so many things I want to say and want her to know, but a few things in particular that I want everyone to know..
Amber Was such a truly amazing and beautiful person, with the biggest heart. When I think of all she did for me and for others, it inspires me.
It hurts my heart to think that someone who was so giving and someone who gave me so much comfort is gone. I love her and miss her so much. She knew me more than anyone in the world, she is the one who knew how to help me through every situation I was in. She was always ALWAYS there for me and I feel like I have lost half of me, but I know that she is with me giving me strength everyday and I know she always will.
Amber would do ANYTHING for anyone. It didn't matter, she saw the good in EVERY SINGLE PERSON, the most non judgmental person. She would give you the last dollar she had if it would help you out. Many people went to her, actually everyone went to her for everything, she was such an amazing listener. She knew the answer for everything and would always be there to help you, teach you, or comfort you.
Amber was The MOST amazing role model, and such a caring mother... She would do anything in the world for her boys.. They were her life, everything that mattered to her in this world. They were a little team, and she taught them to be the sweet, kind, and loving little boys that they are today. She was my sister, & my best friend. A true friend to so so many.
When I found out I was pregnant, amber was one of the first calls I made, and she just knew, she always knew things before I could even tell her them, she said "your pregnant aren't you!!!!" and I just laughed because I couldn't hide a single thing from her . . Ever! .... and the next thing she said was "it's a boy!! omg your going to be mommy!" We both started crying And I told her I was scared and I needed her throughout it all and she promised to be there with me every step of the way, and I know in my heart that she was with me and will be there with me For the rest of my life.
She taught me how to deal with the hard and challenging things that I've had in my life, She showed me how to be strong and pull through any situation that I got into. There was nothing that I did that she didn't support me with. Always looking out for her baby sister :) Such an amazing person. I'm so lucky to have so many fun, and wonderful memories with her, I'll NEVER forget them.
I looked out into the crowd at her funeral, as packed as it was with all the many people who's lives she touched. Every single person out there has a story about a time that they needed someone and she was there for them, giving them the advice they need, listening to them, supporting them, or just being there with them through a difficult time in their life.. Because that's what she was, an angel. And I want her to know that the things she has done for people, the lives she has changed and the people who's lives she has touched ... That will NEVER EVER be forgotten, she has made me who I am today.
She taught me all I know from my make up, to my clothes and style, she showed me everything. SHE was EVERYTHING to me... And she's given me the STRENGTH to go on and I want to thank her for that.

Amber, I met you through mutual friends and I remember a camping trip we all went on, you brought your boys and I thought they were the coolest little boys, because I always wanted some rowdy and fun little boys, I didnt know you as well as I wish I did but in the time I did get to know you, you were always very sweet to me and you always had a smile on your face. I dont know why you are no longer with us but I do hope you have found peace and you are now a beautiful angel and you have left an imprint on so many peoples lives so even though you are no longer here, you will live forever in the hearts of all that know and love you.
