Amber Duncan Obituary

Visit the Legacy Remembers website to view the full obituary.
Amber's life ended too soon at the age of 32. She left behind two young daughters Ashlynn and Arian Sill. Aside from her daughters, Amber is survived by her Mom Lisa, Step-Mom Perrie, Sister Tayler, Brothers Levi, Drae, and Beau, and her daughter's Father Justin Sill. Amber was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to parents Lisa Jo Sixbey and Roger Duncan. Her outgoing personality and infectious smile were adored by many. She dedicated her life raising her children as an independent and strong mother. Amber enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking (from scratch) and baking. She had a true gift in baking themed cakes for her girls' and other family members' birthdays. Amber was always surrounded by family and friends who loved and supported her. She was preceded in death by her father Roger Duncan. Our precious Amber will truly be missed.

Amber worked for Cookie and I, at Wrigley Field since 2017. We always thought of her as one of our best employees. She worked as scheduled and was very good at her job. Amber almost always, came in with that bright, beautiful smile, that we and the customers came to love and appreciate. It is not often easy to work in the restaurant and bar industry. If a customer or fellow employee was having a bad day, Amber made the effort to not let it affect her time at work. She also never came to us with a bad word or complaint about anyone, customer or fellow worker. We so appreciated that. Amber filled in for anyone that took time off, some of that time having to work a double. And if she heard I was filling in she would show up early to relieve me. We finally had to say we would just not call her on her Mondays and Tuesdays off, so that she had some regular time off.
Sometimes, I would come in mid morning and find Amber outside Wrigs working on her car. I was amazed at this, as todays' cars are not made for owners to work on! She would be determined to get what was needed done though, and usually succeeded.
Amber and I would have tea together, while setting up some mornings, and she would talk of her girls and what they were learning in school and how proud she was of them. She would talk about a camping trip they had planned and times they would come over to swim in our pool. She spoke of the rest of her family and would show me pictures of spectacular cakes she baked and decorated for them all. I told her she was in the wrong line of work, but please not to leave us.
I cannot confirm this, but I understand Amber is related to Liz Talley. And Amber learned to wait tables in Talley's restaurant.... I learned to make the perfect over easy eggs and omelets at Talley's when we decided to cook breakfast out at the golf course.
This small world will miss Amber greatly. Amber was warm and loving, and we thought of her as family. She was easy to love. We will miss you Amber, love Cookie and Ada
