Amber Ochsner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2025.
Amber Michelle Ochsner, a longtime resident of Southeast Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 13th, 2025, at the age of 40. Her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.

Amber was born on August 6th, 1984, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Leslie Howard Ochsner and Elizabeth Gera Benoit. As the youngest of three siblings, she grew up alongside her sister, Heather, and her brother, Jason. Amber was known for her boundless affection, playful spirit, and infectious laughter that brought joy to everyone she encountered. She was particularly cherished for her gentle and caring nature, especially towards animals and the elderly, a rare quality she exhibited even as a child.

Nothing in life meant more to Amber than being a mother. Her heart was filled with love and admiration for her children, Katelyn and Tanner. Constantly amazed by their growth, accomplishments, and character, she found immense joy in their successes and took deep satisfaction in their kindness, resilience, and determination. Her greatest happiness was not only in what they achieved but in the remarkable people they had become-compassionate, loving, and full of potential. Amber discovered newfound fulfillment in her role as "Mawmaw," adoring grandmother to Nyomi and Evelyn, while eagerly anticipating the arrival of her third grandchild with her expecting daughter, Katelyn. Her spirit will live on in their sparkling eyes and joyous wonder, a testament to the boundless love their Mawmaw held for them.

Amber's love for God was evident throughout her life. Her faith in Jesus as her savior was a steadfast source of strength in challenging times and a wellspring of joy and hope in moments of triumph. Amber had a deep love and talent for the arts, collecting nutcrackers since the first grade and playing the euphonium in the marching band for three years. Knowing by heart the words to every song on the radio, Amber's appreciation of creativity was limitless. She found joy in the great outdoors, embracing the beauty of nature wherever she went. Sunflowers, with their vibrant and sunny disposition, were her favorite bloom, while the beach always held a special place in her heart as the ideal happy retreat.

Amber is preceded in her journey to heaven by her grandparents, Loveless Joseph Benoit, Martha Sue Benoit, Leroy Harley Ochsner, and Martha Louise Ochsner; cousins, Cory Gerard Benoit and Sommer MiChelé Burk; uncles, Mark Gerard Benoit, Paul Wayne Burk, Rickey Dale Joseph Benoit, and Clifton Leon Rushing; and aunts, Cherie Elizabeth Hebert and Margie Ochsner.

Amber's memory is carried forward in the hearts of her father, Leslie Howard Ochsner; mother, Elizabeth Gera Benoit; daughter, Katelyn Michelle Edwards; son-in-law, Samuel David Edwards; granddaughters, Nyomi Marie and Evelyn Mae Edwards; son, Tanner Christopher Steele; sister, Heather Ochsner Prince; brother-in-law, Matthew Helrich Prince; brother, Jason Paul Ochsner; and countless family and friends.

Amber leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Amber's life will be held at the Bridge Point Fellowship Church in Bridge City, TX, on June 21st, 2025, at 2:00 pm. The burial service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, TX.

I miss u every single day baby. Not a day goes by that I don't remember more and more of everything we shared. Sometimes I'm broken and then I'll find some peace and then shattered again. I'll never find anyone to replace u my heart belongs to u forever my love and I would give up anything I mean anything to just lay next to u and run my fingers through that soft hair as u fall asleep. I would stay up hrs watching u dreaming and smiling in ur sleep wherever u were that made u smile that way and giggle I hope ur there now. Just know when my time comes I will still meet u at the end of our galaxy so we might fly through creation together far from gravity and the weight of this world. Untill then I will b try to keep my promise to u ok just know that it's hard without you. I did get two dogs one reminds me of a lot like ghost and they keepy hands full and keep my spirits up a bit the other one has as much or more of Rosie's energy and is wild with short hair though. Well my love I'll see u soon ok
Forever and always I love you!!
