Dick and Clara were staples of my childhood in South Pasadena. They were like my third set of grandparents. My little sister and I frequented Family Fair as children and developed a friendship with them as did many other local kids, though it began mainly because of the sugary stash they held behind that counter! It was really cool to learn that later, FF had moved into my old house! Dick was a truly genuine, kind man. He really was the emotional heart of South Pasadena for me. He is in many of my fonder childhood memories and I am better for knowing him.

Mr. Richard's was a good man who I much admired while I grew up in South Pasadena. I was always welcomed in their house and he always had a conversation and a hug to share. His family is in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time.

I remember Dick when we went to Church. My brother's and I always loved to point out Dick as a former FBI agent, and wanted to be just like him. It was fun growing up accross the street on Ramona with the Parada and 35 other kids in the neighborhood, and I always rmembered Dick and Clare as some of the nicest people I ever meet. When they moved to Wayne street, we saw them mostly at the antique shop, or when my little brother Wayne worked at Buster's. My brother Steve also lived in Amedee Jr. place, which was a studio of about 300 sf.
