Amelia "Amy" Byington, aged 90, passed away on June 1, 2025, in Mansfield, CT. Born on June 6, 1934, she graduated from East Hartford High School and later co-owned The Wicker Cottage in Talcottville, CT, with her friend and partner Essie Blackburn.

Amy was known for her warm, kind, fun personality, and great sense of humor, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her. She nurtured a love for the arts, studying voice, piano, and participating in choir. Her passion for travel and interior design were matched by her delight in watching birds and other wildlife, reflecting her deep appreciation for nature's beauty. She loved decorating and sharing a wonderful two family home, surrounded by nature, with her daughter and son-in-law for many years of her later life.

Amy was predeceased by her parents, John J. and Mary Frances Donnelli, her sister Sally Yobst, and her husband Ralph Byington. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Lisa Sornberger and son-in-law John Sornberger; "second daughter" Susan Tyrol Bagcal, stepsons Ralph Byington Jr (wife Christine) and Mark Byington, (Shelly); grandchildren Joshua Byington (Amanda), Devin Byington, Brittany Byington, Matthew Byington (Nicki), Zakari Byington, and Kasey Byington; great-grandchildren, nieces, and a nephew.

In accordance with her wishes, services will be private. Those who wish to honor Amy's memory may contribute to Wounded Warriors or Easter Seals, organizations that reflect her spirit of giving and support for others. Her family wishes to thank her at home caregivers, Chris Byington, Dionne, and Rahma; Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, and DCI, Manchester, CT for their kindness and help.
