GREENSBORO - Mr. Jack Steinhausen, 100, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2006.
A memorial service will be held at 3p.m. Friday at Friends Home Guilford.
Mr. Steinhausen was born August 3, 1906, in Cologne, Germany to the late Peter and Agnes Nall Steinhausen. He came to the US in 1930 and lived in Chicago for 40 years and retired from Union Oil Company as an accountant. He was a fine and gentle man and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by one son, John Steinhausen.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Mary Steinhausen; one daughter, Jacqueline Steinhausen of Schaumburg, Ill.; one son, Martin Steinhausen of Niles, Ill.; one grandson, Richard Steinhausen of Chicago, Ill.; stepchildren, Dr. Raymond Sullivan, Jr. and his family of Greensboro, Christina Sullivan Woodside and her family of Matthews, and Dr. Ellen Sullivan Mitchell and her family of Seattle, Wash.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends Home Guilford, 925 New Garden Rd., Greensboro, N.C. 27410 in Jack's memory.
