Amy Patricia Bracy

Amy Bracy passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on April 16th. Born on December 26, 1972, Amy was the beloved daughter of Leo and Marilyn Byron. Throughout her 52 years, Amy was known as a kind soul to all those who loved her. She had a deep affection for animals, especially her treasured pets, Kingston and Rufus, and was a loyal friend to many. A passionate sports fan, Amy cheered loudest for her favorite teams, and her enthusiasm was infectious.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Bracy, in 2013 and her father, Leo Byron in 2015. She is survived by her mother, Marilyn, and siblings, Leo (Debbie), Christine (Kevin), and Colleen (Timothy). Her nieces and nephews - Patrick, Reily, Aidan, Devin, Logan, Lucy, and Daisy - will all remember their kind, caring "Aunt Amy." She is also survived by her cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends. Amy will be remembered for her generous spirit, quiet strength, and the love and loyalty she gave to both people and animals alike. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A wake will be held at Barnes-Sorrentino Funeral Home in West Hempstead on Monday, April 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hempstead. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY.
