Cynthia Lynne Hooper Cheatham 59, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at her home September 12, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with lung cancer.
Born on July 22, 1966, in Nashville, Tennessee, at Baptist Hospital, Cindy was the beloved daughter of Linda and John Hooper. She graduated from Hillwood High School, where she met the love of her life, David Cheatham. The two married shortly after high school and built a beautiful life together, raising two children, Cameron and Dylan.
Cindy worked for many years at Commonwealth Insurance before choosing to become a full-time mother following the birth of her second child. As her children grew, she returned to work in a way that reflected her nurturing spirit and love for education. She began volunteering in the front office at Rutland Elementary School in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and later became the library assistant. Her years at Rutland were deeply meaningful to her and allowed her to share her passion for books and reading with countless students.
After both of her children graduated from high school, Cindy and David relocated to Daytona Beach in 2016. There, she discovered a new joy in painting rocks and spreading kindness in her community-a reflection of the warmth and light she brought to everyone around her.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, David; children, Cameron and Dylan; mother, Linda; father, John; stepmother, Lynn; and brother, John. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her ability to bring beauty and kindness into the world in quiet, meaningful ways.
A family hosted Celebration of Life has been planned for Cindy on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at The Glade Church located at 9000 Stewarts Ferry Pike in Mount Juliet, Tennessee 37122. Please pull around back. The Visitation will be held from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and the Service will begin at 11:00 am.
