AMY J. EDWARDS

Amy J. Edwards (Eileen), age 97, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away on Feb. 18, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dwight Edwards, and her brother, Jack M. Heglin. A beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend to many. She is survived by her nieces, Lynn Heglin of Delray Beach, FL; Amy Austin of Atlanta, GA; nephews Denny Heglin in Cincinnati, OH; and Michael Heglin of Delray Beach, FL. Also Annabelle Edwards, Iletta Phillips, Leo K. (deceased) and Dwight Weeks, all of Brown County, OH, plus numerous other beloved great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Amy was born in Gano, OH, but grew up on a farm in a small Ohio River town called Ripley. After high school, she moved to Dayton, Ohio. She and Dwight retired to AZ in 1972.

Known as Amy to her friends but Eileen to her family, she is described by many as one who enjoyed life, love of her family and friends, tough, resilient, intelligent, organized to a fault, generous with her time and very friendly to all. She devoted much of her time to the Green Valley La Canoa Lions Club and served as past treasurer and president. For many years she provided financial (bookkeeping) services for many local companies through her company, AJE Bookkeeping.

She will be missed by all who knew this fine lady.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Lions Club, La Canoa and Camp Tatyee. Amy will be interned with her husband Dwight in Decatur, OH, but a short service will be conducted on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Green Valley Community Church. 300 W.
