A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend, Amy Lynn Johnson left this world unexpectedly on March 29, 2022. Born in Killeen, Texas, on October 10, 1990, to Glenn and Mary Johnson, Amy grew up in Lampasas, Texas, where she attended Lampasas ISD. Amy attended Angelo State University, where she acquired a bachelor's degree in Mathematics. A high school Algebra teacher, Amy also coached the cheer squad in San Angelo before relocating to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she coached the JV dance squad.
Amy was a lover of the arts and fashion and enjoyed dancing. We will never forget her crystal blue eyes and smile that could melt any bad day or lousy situation away. Her caring personality had a way of making you feel instantly happy and loved. A friend through thick and thin, Amy's loyalty to family and friends is second to none. She is a type of person who could power through anything and drinking milk through a shoe when her sister Genny refused to give her a cup is just one testament to that fact. Her perseverance and limitless strength are only eclipsed by her loving and compassionate spirit. Amy had a heart of gold; she has touched our lives in so many special ways and we will all miss her dearly.
When you think of Amy, please celebrate the good memories you have of her, like the time when she jumped into a big tire and rolled down the hill or when she put on oven mitts to get a pan out of the oven only to place it atop her legs. Remember that life is fragile and short and that it should always be lived to the fullest.
Amy was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Glenn Johnson II, paternal grandparents, Donald Fred and Bonnie Jeanne Johnson, maternal grandfather, Marion Lee Mixon, and cousin, Miranda Dvorak.
She is survived by her father, Donald Glenn Johnson; mother, Marian Lea Johnson; sister, Genevieve Emily Rayfield Johnson; maternal grandmother, Patsy Jean Mixon, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, April 9, at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas, located at 201 E. Third St, Lampasas, TX, 76550.

Coach Blackburn has always been a mother figure to me throughout my high school years. As a coach she showed me nothing but love and compassion for dance, she taught me what it means to truly love myself for who I am, while having confidence within me. I will never forget her warm-hearted spirit, her comforting advices, her sweetness, her love for me, and lastly her beautiful smile that lit up the dance/class room. May God rejoice for all that she has done in this world and continuously bless her in heaven. Thank you for everything.

I struggled my entire freshman year do to chronic illness, I was frequently absent and terrible at math. Amy was the only teacher who empathized, understood, and supported me. I wasn't very close but the impact her kindness made on my life and my best friend's is something I will never forget.

Amy has had such a positive impact on many lives. Not only was she a mentor and role model to me, but she was a close friend as well. You never know how amazing someone can be until you meet them and I am blessed to have ever had the opportunity to have been coached by this woman. She helped turn me into the young woman I wanted to be and see what true positive aspirations were.
I will never forget what impact Amy has had on me and how grateful I was to have been graced with her time and presence in life. Amy was an unconditional lover and there is not much else a person can give up in life besides their own heart to others, and for that I will remember her.

Amy was unapologetically authentic, kind, and genuine. To know her was to feel safe and free to be your authentic self as well. She was a bright light in our class and tennis team back in the day, always with a smile on her face and usually making friends with her opponents on the court.
Once, she was playing against two very serious girls in a doubles match that weren't being very friendly in return, despite Amy's best efforts. After I walked away and came back about 20 minutes later, she was laughing and joking with those same girls between points. Her joy and fun spirit were contagious and impossible to resist.
My thoughts and love are with her family now and always.

I have many fond memories but this one always makes me smile. I remember once Amy and I went to Sea World and the park was pretty empty that day so we rode the Steel Eel about 10 times in a row. We both felt so dizzy and we couldn't stop laughing. My prayers and condolences to the family. Rest in peace Amy.
