Amy Kassner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2025.
Chandler - Amy Jane Hogan Kassner passed away peacefully at the age of 67 holding hands with her beloved husband Rick on Saturday August 2nd, 2025.

Amy was always smiling, so gentle and kind, smart as a whip, beautiful inside and out, had the heart of a lion, giving, always sending cards on special occasions, and she had a spirituality that was real and true. Her marriage to Rick was sacred and their love affair for 38 years was exceptional and rare. They shared passions for music, travel, fine dining, and welcoming dear friends at their well-attended Pink Flamingo Parties every Fall.

Amy grew up in Sevierville TN where she was a real UNDERACHIVER!! (Kidding - she was a TRUE ROLE MODEL & "Sister" to SO many in her orbit.) Amy was active on the local swim team slaying the breaststroke at every chance, she was a baton twirler with snazzy sequin outfits, a cheerleader, an oboe player in the band, and a master at the piano. Brilliant, Amy was named the Valedictorian of her class at Sevier County High School in East Tennessee.

Amy graduated from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville TN with a BS in Engineering Science & Mechanics. She was also a member of the Kappa Delta sorority and the Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity.

Amy's first job was with Motorola in Manufacturing Engineering. She was then promoted to Quality Assurance. She was with Motorola for over 20 years. Amy then joined General Dynamics Mission Systems, where she worked for over 13 years. Her last position before retirement was with Honeywell Aerospace Technologies where she was Customer Quality Senior Manager.

Amy is survived by her beloved husband Rick, and her stepchildren Kevin Kassner and Michelle Young, step son-in-law Jimmy, and her two step grandchildren Justin Andrew and Nathan James, who gave her immense joy. She is also survived by her nephew Jeremy Hogan, his wife Danielle, grandnephews Noah and Benjamin, and niece Maggie Hogan Campbell, husband Chrisser, and grandniece Emmeline Jean, and Grandnephew Christopher Boyd.

Amy was preceded in death by her mother Beverly, her father Charlie, (Amy was the apple of his eye), her brothers Bob and Tom.

Amy's wish was to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place at their home in mid-October with the Pink Flamingo theme. Celebration begins at 4:00 pm. RSVP is required. Please contact Rick Kassner for more information. [email protected]

My family lived next to Amy's in Sevierville on Cherry Street. What a wonderful family! Mother loved talking about all the Hogan's and the fun time we had! Her favorite was a between Amy and one of my sister's and a game of "I dare you to cross this line"! Keeping you all in our prayers and thoughts, The Simpsons

What a beautiful tribute. There are no words we have for the sorrow we have in our hearts for Amy's passing. It's so unfortunate that Julie & I didn't see you more often over all the years. Time just goes by so fast and she left us much to soon. May God bless each & every friend and/or family member that had the honor of being a part of her life & legacy.

My fondest memories of Amy are her beautiful smile and engaging personality. She was a wonderful hostess who along with Rick threw our favorite annual parties. She would always make the time to sit and have great conversations and we admired her toughness and resilience having battled through and overcome too many personal health challenges.
We most admired her love affair with Rick and the unmistakable way they cherished each other.
May God bless her & keep her until we all meet again

Amy was a strong, supportive, loving woman and role model to anyone who had the pleasure to know her for any amount of time. She earned eternal happiness

My favorite thing about Amy was how she made my buddy, Rick, feel. His happiness made me happy.
