Amy Liggett Sherman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2025.
Amy Lou Liggett Sherman, 66, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, surrounded by love. With grace and strength, she journeyed through life and now rejoins her beloved son, parents, two brothers, and sister in their eternal home.

Born and raised in Bettsville, Ohio, Amy was a proud graduate of Bettsville High School. She spent most of her later years in Lakeland, Florida, where she raised her children and built a life centered around love, creativity, and resilience.

Amy found joy in gardening, cooking, crafting, and getting lost in a good book-until her eyesight no longer allowed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene A. Liggett and Leona Mae Liggett (Milliron); her sister, Shelly Liggett Neal; her brothers, Marcus G. Liggett and Joseph A. Liggett; and her beloved son, Devan E. Sherman.

Amy is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky J. Sherman; her sister, Bonnie Liggett Long; her daughters, Melissa R. Sanchez Vann (Joel Vann), Candi L. Ring (James Ring), April C. Ward, and sons Doyle R. Sherman (Rae Lyn Sherman),

Eric J. Sherman (Bobby Sherman) and Shane L. Ward of Ohio. She also leaves behind thirteen cherished grandchildren: Doryin, Erin, Lukas, Logan, Isabella, Hope, Faith, Grace, Anthony, Kody, Chloe, Seara and Rainy-along with multiple great grandchildren and many extended family members and her two adored cats.

Amy was known for her selflessness, strength, and unwavering love. She had a generous heart and was always ready to offer a kind word, a warm meal, or a listening ear. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, and beautiful memories-gifts that her family will carry with them forever.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her family takes comfort in knowing that her sight has been restored and her body is now whole-free of pain and at peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Amy's honor to Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision, a cause close to her heart:

Amy will be forever missed, fondly remembered, and eternally loved.
