Age 53, of Sewickley, died Monday, December 12, 2016 after a 27 year battle with cancer of the thymus gland that metastasized to her heart. Born April 12, 1963 in Pittsburgh, she was a graduate of Quigley High School, Northern Kentucky University (BSW) and Illinois Institute of Technology (Masters of Psychology in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling). Amy was employed as a Service Coordinator and Rehab Counselor at Over the Rainbow Association in Evanston, IL. She moved to Sewickley in 2007 where she was nanny for Megan Foust of North Fayette and enjoyed crafting, searching for beach glass on Lake Michigan and years of hiking with her many pack-backing buddies in the mountains of the eastern United States. She was preceded in death by her father, Orville J. Royer; brother, Jesse Ben; and sister, Julie Rose. She is survived by her mother, Susan Avery Royer of Sewickley; sisters, Lucy (Joseph) Schaly of Chippewa, Molly (Paul) Rubenstein of Swisshelm Park; brothers, Charles (Suzan) Royer of Shaler, Joseph (Grace) Royer of Chicago, Alex (Marci) Royer of Lisbon, OH, Jacob (DeAnne) Royer of Palatine, IL, Daniel (Lacey) Royer of Fairfax Station, VA and Luke (Jessica) Royer of Munhall. Also surviving are nieces, Hannah Schaly, Alyssa Royer, Abbey Royer, Ella Rubenstein, Libby Rubenstein, Lilly Royer and Eva Royer; nephews, Brett Royer, Nicholas Rubenstein, Dylan Royer, Colin Schaly, Nathaniel Royer, Ty Rubenstein, Bennett Royer, Braxton Royer; best friend, Mark Frazier; and her cat, Tippy. Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at the RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, 328 Beaver Street, Sewickley.
