Anas was a great a gentleman, a friend, a scholar , a scientist, and a true muslim believer. He embodied everything that is great about being a human. When you were with Anas you had the felling that you are in the presence of someone special. Extremely smart, intelligent, well spoken and still very helpful, honest, friendly and down to earth with everyone. He was there for everyone who needed him. I remember when we were doing our masters togather at McGill, he used to help and tutor many of our junior students who used to come ask him questions. He used to take his time helping everyone that needed him.
He will be missed by all of his friends. Allah Yarhamak Ya Anas.

I met Anas few times only….He is the kind of person whom you only need to meet him once for him to leave an ever lasting impression in you…you cannot but feel serenity and peace in his presence…a kind of person who asks you "how are you" and listens attentively to your answer… a kind of person who makes you feel always good seeing him again by coincidence, in some friends' event… a kind of person whom by leaving this world, will be leaving a big vacuum for his family, his friends, his colleagues and his students… a kind of person who has left this world but will never leave our memories & hearts…

It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Anas. My thoughts go to his sister, his mother and his father. May he rest in piece.

I was and am honoured that Prof Anas Hamoui put the Iron Ring on my finger. I could think of no one who could personify as fully the values the ring represents. He was and forever will be my favorite teacher, and the world is poorer with him gone. Rest in peace Prof. Hamoui

Prof.Anas Hamoui was one of the best teachers I've had during my Computer Engineering studies. When I heard the news, the one image that came to mind was Prof. Hamoui with an energetic zeal teaching us about various topics in microelectronics. My sincerest thoughts to Prof. Hamoui's family on the loss of such a brilliant, and caring individual.
