While at St. Ignatius college prep, I was on the behind the stage crew building sets. During the rehearsals of the Night of January 16th, I was rather mesmerized by this amazing talent that coexisted in the lightest of spirits. His name was Andre Braugher. I worked with him on other projects, and always knew he would be a star. When he entered the room, everyone watched.
I also remember him on screen in Glory! I was watching the movie, and kept saying to my friend, "I think I went to high school with that man. I think it's Andre from theater". Sure enough, it was Andre.
He had the biggest personality and the biggest heart. I will miss his shining light.

Its so sad that once again the world has lost a very extraordinary actor that made you pay attention to whatever character he portrayed. Whether he was on the big screen or television his charismatic charm and dry sense of humor held your attention. Andre Braugher, was a husband. a father and no doubt a good friend to many. There is know doubt that he will be missed by all who knew him personally and professionally.
May the family of Andre Braugher, keeps treasured memories of him in your heart. And may you also find comfort in knowing that God is aware of your pain and may he give you the strength needed as you continue on this journey of life.
