Not all memories are the same. Some are imbedded due to an event, encounter or even a controversy that make them impossible to forget. Others come about due to a profound, cherished, or timely experience that causes you to always want to remember them.
The few enlightening conversations I had with André fall into the "always want to remember them" category of memories. I will never forget André taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with a young employee, who like himself, was living in a foreign country at an early stage of his career. His advice was pertinent, based on his personal experience, and passionate. Mentoring, which was valued by André, need not be a frequent occurrence when the quality of the guidance is inspired and delivered with compassion and integrity. I only had a few mentoring sessions with André, but I always want to remember each one, and will do so long as I have the gift of remembrance.
Merci d'avoir pris le temps de me conseiller.

Andre was creative, curious, kind and brilliant. I am fortunate to have known him for 20 years. I'll always treasure my memories of time spent with him.
