Andrea Renee Ortega, 39, went to be in the Loving Arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April, 30, 2022, unexpectedly due to a car accident.
Andrea was born on April 26, 1983 in Long Beach, California. She grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Andrea graduated from Capital High School in 2001. She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico in 2009, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Psychology. Andrea was an Educator for Pecos Independent Schools and SFPS. She also enjoyed working at Atrisco's Cafe.
Andrea was a gift to those close to her, who truly knew her kind and generous spirit and loving heart. She so loved and cherished her nephews as her own children.
Andrea is preceded in death by her Father, Jose Ortega and Grandmother Josefa Ortega.
Andrea leaves behind her Mother, Diana Martinez; Sister, Josie Ortega-Mee (Will); Cherished Nephews, Isiah and Isaac Ortega and River Mee; Grandparents, Gilbert and Dorothy (Nana) Martinez, and Andres Ortega; Aunts and Uncles, Debbie (Tony) Villaescusa, Denise (Alex) Magallanez and her adopted "Aunt" Anna Kavanaugh; Cousins, Rahnae and Corrina Magallanez and Steven Martinez; Stepfather, James Herrera; Stepbrothers, Josh and Jason Herrera; And many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Special family friend, Valerie Garcia. Thank you Val for being there for my baby when she needed a friend!
We will miss you my "Little Girl"! You are finally Free and at Peace!
Celebration of Andrea's Life will be on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Altitude Christian Church, 1612 Pacheco Street, Santa Fe, NM.

My sweet Andrea I wish you were still here! You were a very special daughter in law. It broke my heart to know you weren´t going to be with us anymore. I pull out your calendar once in a while to see your beautiful face. We will meet again. RIP

She had been killed in a car wreck in April on I-25 on her way home to her mother's house in Glorieta.
Andrea was a very beautiful girl, with a very kind heart, and a free spirit, who loved her various teaching jobs. She loved all her various waitressing jobs, like at Atrisco's.
During parties at my son's house Andrea and my grandson River would go to the sand pile and play with his toys. She was so good with him. They would throw sand on each other and laugh. I will always remember that. RIP Andrea.

My heart is broken. I offer my deepest condolences and love to Diane and Josie and the entire family. My daughter Lindsey and Andrea were the dearest of friends. They coached the Kearny Raider cheerleaders...Tee Ball, and played softball for CHS...as well as AllStars. I remember Andrea going with us on vacation to San Diego....running towards the ocean...carefree and ecstatic to be close to the water. I envision her in heaven.. carefree and ecstatic... loving those she leaves behind! God Bless you ...and thank you for the wonderful memories and sharing your time with us. Thank you Diane... for sharing your daughter with the Shirley family!
