Andrea Stolzenberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 12, 2025.
Andrea Desiree Stolzenberg (née Ickler), age 92, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania.

Born on December 26, 1932, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Andrea lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and devotion to both her family and her community. She was the daughter of Eugene and Melanie Ickler and later married William Peter Stolzenberg, with whom she shared a long and loving marriage until his passing.

Andrea dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Pascack Valley Hospital. Her work there spanned many years and left a lasting impact on those she served. Known for her gentle touch and unwavering dedication, she embodied the spirit of service in every aspect of her career.

Her nurturing nature extended far beyond the hospital walls. Andrea was the proud mother of five children: Michael Stolzenberg and Dolores; Mark Stolzenberg and wife Peggy; Steven Stolzenberg and wife Janice; Eric Stolzenberg and wife Vivian; and Janet Stolzenberg-Calnan and husband Kevin. Her legacy continues through her twelve grandchildren-Caitlin Lara, David Stolzenberg, Taryn Stolzenberg, Josie Stolzenberg, Matthew Stolzenberg, Melanie Nelson, Martha Chianese, Joseph Stolzenberg, Nicholas Stolzenberg, Carmelina Stolzenberg, Chelsea Calnan, and Graeson Calnan-and their partners/spouses. She was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren: Angelina, Luca, Nico, Jackson, Reagan, Calvin, Theodore, Jacob, Troy, Tyler, Bryce, and Colton.

Affectionately known as "Grandma Andy," Andrea was renowned for her extraordinary talent in crafts. A gifted weaver and artisan at heart, she created beautiful baskets, quilts, afghans, jewelry, clothing-virtually anything that could be handmade. Her creations were not only expressions of her skill but also tokens of love that touched generations of family members and friends.

Andrea's faith played a central role in her life. After converting to Catholicism upon marrying Pete, she remained deeply involved in the local church communities wherever she lived. Her spiritual commitment was evident in both word and deed-she was often described as a caregiver and an Angel of Mercy by those who knew her best.

Andrea Desiree Stolzenberg leaves behind a rich legacy of love, service, creativity, and faith. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Compassionate Care Hospice of Northeastern PA, LLC would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life is planned for May 17th at The Landing @ Matamoras. Please RSVP to the family with your intentions.

I am blessed and privileged to have known you and be part of you family. I miss you
One of my fondest memories of you is when you were living with us and you were taking a bath in the whirlpool tub, you accidentally dropped the shampoo bottle. When you called me in I couldn't even see you, you were immersed in bubbles. We both laughed so hard
