Mr. Andrew Bella Sr., of Bear Creek Township, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Celtic Healthcare Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Medical Center South Wilkes-Barre.
Born March 16, 1943, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Leo and Tillie Buczak Bella Sr. Andrew attended Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed as a laborer with the Laborers Union Local 215, Wilkes-Barre. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard with the 109th Field Artillery, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Andrew enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved relaxing in his recliner with a glass of wine.
He was preceded in death by his sister Frances Casterline and brothers Leo Bella Jr. and Phillip Bella.
Surviving are his wife, the former Grace Fell, with whom he was married 47 years on June 19; sons, Andrew Bella Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Bear Creek Township; and Myron Bella and his wife, Catherine, of Bear Creek Township; grandchildren, Joshua, Tabitha, Luke, Sabrina, Matthew, Ashley and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Austin and Rylee; sister Helen Taylor and her husband, Buster, of Durham, N.C., and brother Richard Bella and his wife, Dolly, of Bear Creek Township, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 North Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.
