Mrs. Marguerite K. James

Marguerite James Marguerite Kelly James, 72, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died August 28. Born in Annapolis in 1941, she was the daughter of the late William and Vera Kelly, and wife of the late John W. James. Marguerite graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1959, and went on to work for the State of Maryland as a revenue specialist from 1977 to her retirement in 2004. After retirement, Marguerite fostered her artistic side by creating cards using paper crafts, caring for her gardens, and decorating her home. She was a member of Thursday's Crabby Red Hatters. Surviving Marguerite are her children and their spouses; son, Thomas W. Wills and Alexia Park of Montgomery Village, daughter, Bethany W. Phillips and Jonathan F. Phillips of Annapolis, and stepson, John James of Baltimore. She is also survived by her granddaughter and step grandchildren, as well as many friends and family members. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, at the John Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, where services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the Taylor Chapel.
