Andrew Edwin "Drew" Carpenter

Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

November 16, 2017

drew was more than just a peer, he was like a shining light that always seemed to make others smile no matter what. he was kind, stubborn, witty, and charming everything about him was inviting and no one could resist his enchanting nature. we will all be missing you drew and i hope that the other side is as bright as its made out to be. but if its not drew i'm sure you will find away to make it drip gold in a luminous light. rest in peace drew

Dear Julie and family,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss of your son.
We lost ours 23 years ago and know what it is to lose a child.
Just trust in the Lord for comfort and he alone will take care of you.
We are here for you if you ever need to talk to someone.

With my deepest sympathy to the Carpenter family. As a parent, this is the most unimaginable pain any parent should endure. In the almost 3 years that my step daughter was dating Drew, we got to share many great memories with him. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and when we would run into him at various places in Tyler, he'd always literally run up to us and give each of us a full bear hug. He had such a beautiful soul, and will be dearly missed. He talked about the Marines a lot in the last year, and would always talk about what great parents He & Alyssa would be. He couldn't wait to have his own family. When they'd come over to our family events regularly, he loved playing with the younger kids as much as hanging out with "adults" and playing various board/card games. Game nights will not be the same without him there joking and keeping the laughter going! Although his absence will leave a void in all of our lives, his precious memories will slowly fill those voids. Continued prayers for his family & close friends.

Julia, so sorry to hear of your loss. Even though we haven't seen Drew in a while, the kids and I thought about him often. He always wore a smile and was such a joy to have around. He will be truly missed and will continue to be remembered. Our prayers are with you and your family.

I have fond memories of Drew he always called me Mr. Hizey. I told him Mr. Hizey was my father who was still alive. He would ask me if I ever went home from work, I was always in the gym when he visited the clinic. I talked to him once at Green Acre's Baptist church after service he had a kind soul. God Bless You all Michael.

With deepest sympathy to the Carpenter family. I enjoyed visiting with Drew last month--very respectful, hard working young man with a serving heart. You all can be very proud of him and know that his Heavenly Father loves him beyond measure also.
