Andrew Davenport Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4, 2024.
River Edge, NJ - Andrew Davenport 1948-2024.

Sadly we lost Andy to a 23 year battle with cancer.

There are many things to say bout him and it is hard to express them all.

He had a wonderful childhood growing up near his aunts, uncles and cousins. His two older cousins treated him as a little brother and they shared many wonderful experiences together, their friendships lasted a lifetime.

In high school at age 16 he met his wife Candy who was always by his side, they were inseparable. Always know as Andy & Candy.

Andy proudly served Viet Nam in the US Naval Construction Battalion known as the Navy Sea Bees which led to his career as. Construction engineer.

A true friend to many and always there to help anyone in need.

In addition to his wife he leaves his much loved sister-in-law Sharon, mother -in -law Grace and his younger brother Thomas who is was very protective of.

There is so much more that could be said about him, but most importantly he was a truly wonderful caring person who will be missed by many dear friends.

God bless him

He had his rough edges, but Andy had a heart of gold. When my husband died, Andy quietly said that he would be there for me, whatever I needed and he kept his promise. He cared for his brother, Tom, calling him almost daily and he watched out for friends and neighbors, gifts of unsolicited kindness. I miss him terribly. Sharon

So sorry for your loss. Lew was my dad and I remember Andy from when I was little. If I’m not mistaken he made it to Dad’s funeral in May.
