I had the great priviledge to meet Andrew when my parents became neighbours of Andrew and Anne about 4 years ago. Andrews story of his escape from occupied Poland at the beginning of the second world war and subsequent career in the RAF where he met Anne is quite extaordinary. I was extremely saddened to hear of his passing and extend mine and my families condolences to the De Nahliks for their loss.

I met Andrew de Nahlik at a countryside day at Newbury Racecourse approximately 12 years ago. I recall talking in general about deer and their management and was particularly taken by his relaxed informative reply to my somewhat inexperienced view on all matters deer related. It was a pleasure to have met him and to have shaken his hand. I have no doubt that the great man and K.Whitehead are now working on a cull plan elsewhere? RIP Mr. de Nahlik your theories will live on and provide inspiration to novice deer stalker/managers such as myself.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
Although I never met Andrew I belive he was one of the great founders of modern deer management in this country, and his books have been a great assistance to both myself and others attempting to follow in his footsteps.
