Andrew J. Ervin

Andrew "Andy" J. Ervin, age 46, of Bourbonnais passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at his home. He was born November 15, 1977 in Flint, MI, the son of John & Brenda (Howay) Ervin. Andy married Sarah Burton on January 6, 2017 in Monticello. Andy was a history teacher. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his MA in History. He taught at Judah Christian Academy in Champaign and Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, IN. Andy was an avid reader and loved books and history. He adored his daughters and wife. Andy was kind and gentle, with the heart of a servant. He always put others first. Andy was a member of the Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Ervin of Bourbonnais; two daughters, Grace and Elyse; his father, John Ervin of Owosso, MI; one brother, Robert Ervin of Owosso, MI; and extended family. Andy was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Ervin in April 2022. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 N. Entrance Ave. Kankakee 60901.
