Andrew Fung

FUNG, Andrew Chau-Ngan August 27, 1950 - May 14, 2011 Andrew Fung, beloved husband of Eliza Fung of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the age of 60 years. Andrew was born in Hong Kong, and moved to Canada as a teenager. He attended high school in Yorkton and Regina, Saskatchewan. In 1971, Andrew moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he met his wife, Eliza. They settled in Calgary, Alberta, which has been their home for the past forty years and is the birthplace of their daughter, Andrea. Andrew took his family for a brief adventure to Burnaby, British Columbia, where they lived from 1991 to 1994. Andrew was an avid sportsman and he enjoyed playing badminton, basketball and golf. Andrew was a generous, caring and hardworking individual, who lived by example. He believed that every person should be treated with respect and kindness, and approached each challenge with patience and perseverance. Andrew courageously battled cancer since his diagnosis in 2008. He maintained a positive outlook throughout his battle, and his sense of humour and charming personality remained until his last moments. Andrew was a loving husband and father; he will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him. Andrew is survived by his wife Eliza Fung and their daughter Andrea Fung. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
