Andrew J."Sam" Guimond, 84, of Hooksett, died December 7, 2002, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Somersworth, July 3, 1918, he was the son of Frank X. and Evangeline (Bisson) Guimond. He lived most of his life in the Manchester area.
He was an army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Guimond worked more than 32 years as a mechanic for Merrimack Street Garage.
He was a communicant of St. Catherine Church, and a member of Manchester Post 79.
Family members include his wife of 61 years, Anita (Bourgeois) Guimond of Hooksett; 2 sons, Ernest A. Guimond of Manchester, and Robert J. Guimond of Lynnfield, MA; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Laura Bertrand of Manchester, and Angie Tagalakis of Sun City, AZ; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Guimond, who died May 25, 2000.
A memorial mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday December 13, 2002 in St. Catherine Church, Webster St., Manchester. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
