Dear Esther, Harvey, Sam and Eric:

I am very saddened today to hear of Andy's passing. I have known him as a friend since 1974. He was a kind, generous and compassionate man and a true gentleman. Montreal will not be the same without this remarkable man.

Mary and I extend our most sincere sympathies on your loss.

To Esther and family, please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of Andy. He was a decent and honourable person, humble and kind.
We were out of town and therefore were unable to attend the funeral/shiva .
We will always remember him for his generosity and compassion to his sister the late Faye.

I was very saddened to hear of your loss. I had the privilege and honour of knowing Andy through my dealings with Sam going back many years at Budget in Dorval. I admired Andy for the organisation he had built and was in awe of his business savy & ethics, which I know he passed on to Sam.

I have know you for over 30 years and had the pleasure of meeting your dad through Sam. He has left all of you with the same foundations he believed in, honesty, trust, friendships and most important, family.

At a time like this mere words are empty and shallow, but yours is a suffering which is universal, which belongs to every human being in every corner of the world. A deep anguish which, sooner or later, cuts into every human heart....strong and weak.

Death is the inevitable goal, and there may be some small degree of consolation in the thought that death is but a narrow starlit strip between the companionship of yesterday and the happy reunion of tomorrow.
