In memory of
Frank Parker
January 28, 2017
I just moved back to San Luis Obispo County and saw Andrew's memorial plaque at Atascadero High School. Andrew was a good friend, a genuinely nice guy, and a tremendous athlete. I have many memories running with Andrew during P.E. at then Atascadero Junior High and Track & Field at Atascadero High School. He was a friend, a classmate and someone I looked up to. I wish his family the best, and want them to know that their son left a positive impression on many, and upheld the Ramos name honorably.

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE SADNESS WE FEEL FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR SON AND BROTHER. ANDREW WAS ALWAYS THE CUTEST LITTLE GUY WHO GREW UP TO BE A HANDSOME YOUNG MAN. WE ALL KNOW WE CANNOT PREDICT WHAT HAPPENS IN OUR LIVES. THROUGH THE PAIN AND HEARTACHE WE CAN ONLY TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT LIFE DEALS US, THEN BE COMFORTED WITH THE CHERRISHED MEMORIES. THOSE MEMORIES WILL GET YOU THROUGH THE MOST DIFFICULT TIMES,KNOWING THAT ANDREW LOVED YOU ALL SO MUCH AND REMEMBERING HOW SPECIAL HE WAS. HIS SMILE WAS CONTAGIOUS. HE COULD BRING A SMILE TO ANYONE'S FACE. ANDREW TOUCHED MANY LIVES AND WILL LIVE ON THROUGH THEM. YOU ARE IN OUR HEARTS, THOUGHTS AND IN OUR PRAYERS. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU NEED OR WE CAN DO FOR YOU. EVEN IF YOU JUST WANT TO TALK. MAY GOD BLESS AND COMFORT YOU ALL.

It was with great sadness that we read the news about Andrew. We were so glad to be able to go to his memorial and learn more about a young man that we have known since he and Tyler started school together. Even though we had lost touch with him, the memories of him and your whole family will be with us always.
We apologize for not being able to talk with you after the service, but hope you got the Mass card that we gave to Maryanne. A Mass was said for Andrew this last Tuesday, April 28th.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

I was honored to be Andrew's Principal during his 8th Grade Year. He continues to be one of my favorite students and I followed his career, both academic and athletic, throughout his high school years. I won't go into details regarding the incident that occurred during his 8th Grade Year, but to me it showed personal courage and his conviction to strong family values. I am very saddened by his passing, but am inspired by the life that he lived.

I ran across this and would like to share it with Andrew's family & friends
Don't grieve....My Family & Friends
For I am not gone
I'm merely out of sight
For in everything you've shared with me
A part of me burns bright
In my family and friends smiles or gestures
You'll recall a time or place
We've laughed or loved or shared much
That mere absence cannot be erased
So smile for me
And laugh for me
And live your life with zest
Do treasure all our memories
I offer you my strength
Go on with life and be proud of me
In you I have such faith
I love you all so much
I will always be with you

Thank you to everyone who has supported my sister and her family through this time. Today was a very special and touching day for all of us.
I want to thank those that shared their stories of Andrew. I want to thank Bob Horn, Andrew's Soccer coach when he was 8 years old and his All Star Baseball coach when he was 12 years old. Those are two stories of Andrew that I will never forget and appreciate so very much. They bring a smile to my face and my memory of Andrew whenever I think of them. Thank you.

Oh man Kathleen we are so very very sad for you and all of your family.
No one family should ever have to endure the hardships that yours has weathered in the years leading up to this tragedy.
and now you've lost your Andrew.
its just hard to express our sympathy.
we as humans do not have a mechanism built in us to deal with an event such as this.
it makes no sense to us so we cannot choose words that describe the feelings we have.
words like "pain", and "loss", and even "sorrow" do not adequately describe what we are all feeling.
It makes us want to cry out loud, pound our fists, shout obscenities, and then cry out loud some more.
we are helpless at a time when we need to somehow help.
we pray that you loving family members can somehow find the strength to hold each other up and get through this hardest of times.
It was comforting for us to read the heartfelt entries in your guestbook here as we now realize how many peoples lives Andrew touched in the short time he had here on earth.
please know that although we cannot be there for you at the services on friday, you are all in our thoughts and prayers up here in Alaska.

It is with deep regret and sorrow that we write this short note. Andrew is remembered as a friend to all in our family. He was a great person to be around. He gave everything he did his best and he accomplished much. Andrew was a respectful, polite and obedient young man. A day has not passed since we learned about his death that we haven’t remembered something he said or did that brings a smile to our face. Andrew made many friends in his short time here and we consider ourselves very fortunate to be someone he touched. Kathleen, Bill, Jayne and Rebecca your son/brother is a very special person.

Andrew was a class-act, one of a kind guy. We know that even though we lose the people we love here on earth they are kept alive through our thoughts and actions. The presence of Andrew will be kept in our memories and hearts. We can find peace in our lives knowing that we have been deeply touched because of Andrew’s love and friendship. We know that your family will one day see him again. We hope you find comfort from the love of your friends and family. May God be with your family and we will keep you in our prayers.

You were chosen to be Andrew’s mother for a reason. No one else could have been better for him. You provided him loving guidance and lots of fun.

Andrew Ramos. What a kid. What a ball player. When I first coached Andrew in little league I knew he would give 110% all the time. It didn’t matter what position I had him play, he could do it all. He could hit, run, and field with the best.
Andrew was a very intense player and always wanted to do better each game; and he usually did. Andrew was one of the easiest kids to coach. He would listen and then would just go out on the field and do it. Sometimes Andrew would be his worst critic about how he was playing, but that didn’t matter because he would go back out there and try even harder to be the best he could.
I still remember that Ramos smile and that never ending desire to play baseball. Andrew had a real good throwing arm, so I guess I saw a quarterback in him, but that was not be because baseball was his true love.
As Andrew was getting older I would see him from time to time and he always had that big Ramos smile, and would ask: “How’s it going?” As I think about my past coaching career, Andrew always comes to mind because he was easy to coach and I could always count on him to do his best. The thing that I admired most about Andrew was his love of the game. Even though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on and will not be forgotten
Andrew, thanks for the time I got to spend with you.

Kathleen, Bill, Jayne and Becca,
Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to you all at the untimely passing of Andrew. He was one of those kids whom we watched grow from grade school to a young adult at school, at church and in the community. He was so devoted to his grandpa that he would go with him to mass regularly. Andrew always had a smile on his face.
We will never forget the fun times when he and RJ played on the same basketball team. Most of all, we will remember Andrew as a kind-hearted individual whose love for life is shown by his love for sports.
May the spirit of Andrew live on in the stories we share, in our fond memories of him and in the kindness we give to others.
Take care of yourselves. May God keep you strong at these difficult times. May the memories of Andrew lighten your hearts as we keep you in our hearts and in our prayers.
Tight hugs,
Jared Hamman

With many others, I had the honor of being andrews teamate with Greyhound football. That season was a constant fight and it brought us closer together as a team. As any teamate knows a bond is formed when you go into battle, and in my book that lasts forever. Andrew was loyal,a team first guy, and one who gave every last ounce of his heart and soul, on the field or off. A good man."for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother". May God bring comfort to your family in these times.

My deepest sympathies go out to your family during this difficult time. I will always have fond memories of Andrew in my 5th grade class at Santa Rosa. I was not surprised to read about all he accomplished in his too-short life: He was already a great writer in 5th grade, and an amazing athlete well before then! My thoughts are with you.

I just happened to be back in Atasadero visiting for the weekend when I read the Sunday newspaper. I was shocked to see Andrew's obituary and my first thoughts were of his mom Kathleen, who was an incredible mother and supportive parent when her son Andrew was a second grade student in my class. Though we have all moved on, I will always fondly recall my years as a teacher in Atascadero and some of the amazing students I worked with, especially those early years at Santa Rosa. I will keep Andrew and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

From the days on the Santa Rosa Elementary playground to the Summer Babe Ruth afternoons to the High School diamond and gridiron, Andrew exhibited courage, determination, leadership and work ethic which were the same qualities he carried off the field. A true Team Captain we all admired and respected. I send my deepest thoughts and prayers to his family.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of Andrew's family. I had the opportunity to play sports with and Andrew and every once in a while sneak in a couple study sessions at his house. He was really one of the nicest people I have ever met. He was always extremely generous and one of the smartest and most athletic people I knew. I will always remember Andrew as a stand up guy and we will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

Bill, Kathleen & family,
So many memories, where do we begin. . . fishing, soccer, baseball, and family bar-b-ques. We cherish all the memories, especially the picture of the boys, Andrew with his arm around Abe, smiling from ear to ear with their bag of treasures from fishing on the pier. Watching Andrew pitch with Abe behind the plate, greatest combos in baseball or whatever they did. They are friends forever. There are so many wonderful times between Dk and Jayne, Andrew and Abe not far behind them then our babies Becca and Lynette, we cherish them all. Andrew will live in our hearts forever.
We love you all so much!

Our loss of Andrew is so devastating and we will miss him in so many ways every day for the rest of our lives. The support we have already received from family, friends, hospital staff, employers, and everyone has been so gratifying and helpful in getting through the first week and I want everyone to know the worst is over...Andrew is safe and protected in the loving company of his grandparents, uncles and aunt who have gone before him.
We hope to share a celebration of his life that touched so many in positive ways this Friday, and would enjoy hearing from you even if you are unable to attend the service at the lake. It is our hope that you will remember Andrew with a smile as you perform a task, offer a service to someone, complete a project or participate in a sport or competition. As Andrew was loving and giving, so shall we endeavor to keep that spirit alive every day.
