Andrew "Andy" J. Santine, 92, of McAlester, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at McAlester Regional Health Center.Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Chaney's Memorial Chapel.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church in McAlester with the Rev. Leonard Higgins as celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.Born Oct. 5, 1916, in Krebs, he was the son of James and Angela (Totts) Santine. He graduated with the Class of 1936 from St. John's High School.He began working at the Coca-Cola plant at the age of 12 where he worked as a production manager for more than 40 years.In the late 1950s, he opened Andy's TV Sales and Service in McAlester where he spent the remainder of his working life, along with acquiring and managing his rental property.He enjoyed fishing and camping, but most importantly his family.He married Bette Everidge on Dec. 19, 1946, in McAlester.Survivors include his wife, Bette, of the home; sons, Vincent Santine, of Mannford, David Santine and wife, Billie Jean, of Bugtussle, and Clem Santine and wife, Jayna, of McAlester; daughters, Regina Mathis, of McAlester, and Patti Santine and husband, Stephen Williams, of Bugtussle.Also, sister, Thresa Santine, of McAlester; 19 grandchildren, Chris Santine, Plano, Texas, Beth Santine, Kansas City, Mo., Collette Santine, of Mannford, Clifford Paul Mathis, Texarkana, Ark., William Griffith Mathis, Natchez, Miss., James Andrew Mathis, of McAlester, Andrea Santine, of Pauls Valley, Vanessa Sorrells, of Marlow, Davey Santine, of Bugtussle, John Duff, of McAlester, Laramy Duff, Gainesville, Texas, Chris Kerby, of Edmond, Matt Vaughn, of Bugtussle, Jennifer Mullins, of McAlester, Lucas Barnes, of Edmond, Kevin Barnes, of McAlester, Drew Santine, of Tulsa, Ashton Santine, of McAlester, and Nicholas Santine, of McAlester; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Angela Santine; brothers, Bennie and Johnny Santine, and sisters, Mary Leek and Catherine "Honey" Santine.Pallbearers will be Chris Santine, Clifford Mathis, Dustin Sorrells, Kevin Barnes, Drew Santine, Nicholas Santine, Lucas Barnes, William Mathis, Fred Mullins, Laramy Duff and John Duff. Honorary pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus and Men of St. John's Choir.
