He was the best teacher I ever had. I suffered profoundly from perfectionism and he was the only one who ever picked up on it. He saw that I wasn't able to get beyond ruling my page or writing a single word, and he taught me to do the work no matter how messy.
There were other teachers who didn't like him, thinking he wasn't teaching us and making us do the work because they heard us having fun from the demantables nearby, but actually he taught us well and why we sounded like we were enjoying ourselves often is because at the end of strenuous lessons he would encourage us to put our hats on backwards and use our pens to drum, our rulers to strum or our glue sticks to sing into, and he would put on songs like Blue - Song 2 for us to rock out to.
I miss him so much. He was the only one who ever saw me struggling and cared, and the only one to ever tell me I could do anything I wanted in life.
I didn't know he was gone. I'm in tears. I always hoped I'd get to see him again.
