Dear Webb Family,
I had the privilege of serving as Drew's editor at the Cornell Daily Sun for two years. Drew always brightened my days with his humor, wit and kindness; I remember countless hours spent laughing and joking around with Drew as we struggled to come up with the perfect headline that captured his brilliant, off-the-wall sense of humor. His creativity, intelligence, passion and dedication made him my favorite writer on The Sun by far.
Drew was truly one of a kind--- I am so grateful for his friendship, and for the opportunity to have had such an exceptional person in my life.

To the family of Drew Webb
I was a classmate of Drew's in the Penn Program. We also lived in the same neighborhood and sometimes rode the bus together, but regretfully, I did not know him well. I wish I had, though, because as a person who has long been affected by a major depressive disorder, I think we would have had a lot to talk about. I understood Drew's desire to be someone who could help people who are suffering, and this truly breaks my heart.
I wish you all a safe period of healing and to find comfort with each other. May your son please rest in peace.

To Drew's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to be Drew's lab partner in Biology last semester. We had a great time and I looked forward to seeing him in lab every week. He kept all the hours we spent there fun with loads of crazy stories. Despite the brevity of our acquaintance, he will be sadly missed. This program is just not the same without him. I am very honored to have known him and am deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.

The Webb Family,
Drew was such an inspirational and remarkable young man. I knew Drew through my sister, Sydney. When she brought Drew home for the first time to meet the family we all immediately fell in love with him. You could not get any better than Drew Webb. He always treated my little sister with the highest respect and I enjoyed getting to know him--always looked forward to his visit and always asked Sydney to bring him around. Although I did not get the chance to know him well, he definitely made a strong impact in my life that I will take with me forever. We will always think of Drew and miss him temendously. We will always remember him for the amazing man he was and for the amazing Angel he has become. May your memories of your beautiful son and brother bring you comfort and strength. Our thoughts and prayers are forever with you.

Hall, Dorothy and Thurston,
Drew's memorial service yesterday was the most healing memorial service I have ever attended.
Hall and Thurston - you shined a bright light on Drew's life - to light up the dark spots and to celebrate your lives with Drew.
Drew's achievements of being a great brother, son, teammate, coach and friend came across loud and clear. I imagined Drew smiling up in heaven.
Thank you,

Drew has always been a personal hero of mine. Whether it was in scouting, sports, or academics, Drew had it all. He put so many other people in front of himself and inspired everyone around him. It deeply saddens me that such a great guy isn't with us anymore.

Wayne and I were deeply saddened to learn of the loss of your beloved Drew. Like Myrna, I too remember listening to the stories of his latest antics. I always enjoyed his company at the Christmas parties or during the visits to see Dad at work. I know he was a very special son and brother. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time and in the months ahead.

Drew Coached our Team Houston lacrosse team the summer going into my senior year. He had so many other options that summer, yet he chose to coach our team because he couldn't stand that the Dallas teams were better than Houston's. Everyone looked up to him with so much respect. He is truly an amazing guy.

Dear Family and Friends of Drew,
I did not know your son, but he sounds like a wonderful person. So many young precious people leave us way to early and it is very hard to understand. We wonder when they are so kind, giving, caring, creative as to why they have to leave us so soon.
We share in your loss and sorrow as we lost our son Dec. 30, 2009 at the age of 25. He was also kind, creative, gifted and caring. Our Brian was a DJ for the NAMI walk last year. We wish you strength in knowing that others share in your sorrow. The memory of your son will live in your heart and in the love of your family and friends.
May God surround you with the love and support you need to move forward with life.

Mr. and Mrs. Webb and Thurston,
Drew is an amazing person. He embodied humor, kindness, joy, commitment, the pursuit of something greater than himself, a strong will, and a love for those around him. He was my recruit freshman year at Cornell, and I knew I wanted him to be on my team. He was naturally gifted, with a strong body, fast feet and such a hard shot, but he worked extremely hard too. The Cornell team praised hard work and commitment from all players, so even when Drew wasn't starting, people recognized and respected how much he was willing to do to make himself and the team better.
On the personal side, Drew could be amazing without even being there, though we always wanted him to be. His biweekly columns caused weekly conversation. Every other Friday it was "did you read Drew's column yet? It was hysterical!" And in the off-weeks, it went along the lines of "Is this Drew's week? No? I can't wait until next week." There was so much inside of Drew that when he opened up a little view into his take on life that we laughed with him and shared in what he could do for others. In thinking about Drew, I don't want him to be confused with a prankster or the class clown. Drew was hilarious in an uplifting and positive way. He didn't have to make fun of others or tease people to be funny. He loved everyone around him and wanted to make our day better. He did so just by being himself. Being in his presence was always a good time. In his senior profile he wrote that being with Henry Bartlett was his favorite off-field time. I think every one of us could say being with Drew was one of our favorite off-field times. I'm grateful for, and a better person for each memory I have of Drew. To touch on one such memory, Drew made a song that basically had some beats to it, a little bit of music, and the one word "Webbman", and makes me laugh out loud just thinking about how funny it was to us. Something so simple for him gave us hours of laughter.
As I said, he was my recruit freshman year, and I wanted him to come to Cornell. Today, I am so happy to have had Drew in my life, and will always feel that way. To all those who took part in Drew's life, and especially to Mr., Mrs., and Thurston Webb, Thank you for being a part of his life and allowing him to share it with all of us. We love you Drew.
... Webbman!

To Drew's Parents,
I was hoping I could write to you a real thank you letter, but I hope I can convey how deep my respect for Drew was through this website. I knew Drew on two levels - we were both athletes at Cornell and writers for the Daily Sun. In fact, as fate would have it, I wrote Drew tons of fanmail about his column before realizing we actually knew each other from sports. I know you've heard a lot of incredible things from Drew's teammates, but I'd like to tell you how he affected me as a writer.
Drew inspired me to write comedy, which changed my life and made me so happy. His stunning wit, unparalleled creativity, and incredible way with words caught my attention, and made me hope that I could follow in his footsteps. When I began writing for the Sun, he mentored me with insight and advice.
What I took from all of this was that Drew was absolutely one of a kind. On top of being an imaginative story teller with a knack for hilarity, he was a genuinely kind person who went out of his way to help someone who admired him.
Drew's ideas, unbelievable intelligence, and uncommon talent really left a mark on my life. I will always remember and look up to him. Thank you for raising a son who truly broke every mold.

To the parents of Drew Webb:
I am so sorry for the loss of your amazing son. My friend lived in the apartment above him, this has had a great affect on us, and I could only imagine the pain you must have. I hope that you find the strength and comfort you need to get through it the best you can. I am so so sorry. I am someone who didn't know Andrew, but Andrew seemed like such an amazing, smart, caring young man, from what my friend has told me, from what I read on here and in his bio, just seeing that smile, i see that he was above and beyond! It breaks my heart, and my condolences go out to you, your family and all of Andrew's friends. I will be praying for peace to fill your hearts and take away the pain. May he rest in peace.

Hall, Dorothy, and Thurston,
We were so sorry to learn of Drew's passing. Even though your hearts are broken, you still have the wonderful memories of Drew and his many "antics". I loved hearing the stories of "what Drew has done now!" He was like a breath of fresh air even though at times, it probably seemed more like a hurricane. He was a great son and brother and I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him. May the Grace of God and knowing so many friends are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, give you peace, comfort and strength to face the coming days. You are a special family to us for which we are very grateful.
