I was the 1980 GGO golf tournament chairman. Andy and I became friends and ate dinner most nights at Cellar Antons Italian restaurant when he was in town. He was a great guy and 1 regret I have is never fishing with him in Costa Rica. When the 1980 GGO was over I went right back to being a Veterinarian. Debbie- I attended your wedding in Lakeland and kept up with Andy- We talked kids and fishing and his love for the Gators and mine for my beloved DAWGS-aA life well lived-rest in peace my friend- Ken eiler

Andy and I connected decades ago in Memphis Tn. We became fast friends and I was honored to join him on visits to St Jude Hospital which he did every single time he came to town. We were also connected through Make A Wish. We played numerous pro ams together and shared many dinners. He is truly one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. It was an honor and privilege to call him a friend. He was my hero on and off the course. Heaven got a Hall of Famer.

I remember playing golf with Andy at Jekyll & Hyde before he turned pro. I remember laughing when he would hit a 5 iron and I would have to use my driver. He was a great golfer and will be missed.

To the family of Andy Bean.
The world has lost a great person and a true humanitarian. I was brought to tears when I heard the news.
I met Andy as a teenager through my Dad on a golf course in Polk County. He was just starting his career as professional golfer. My younger brother remembers playing rounds with him and Fred. We loved watching him play and practice. Through the years we followed him on the leaderboards and celebrated his victories.
Out of the blue in 2004 as my Dad was battling cancer he reached out to him. I am not sure how he knew, but this small act of kindness brought great joy to my Dad.
I had hoped one day to say thank you in person. I am sorry that will not get that chance.
Thanks Andy.
With deepest sympathies,

I followed the tour, during the years when Andy starred on that elite circuit. He was a powerful man, with a great all-around game. He was fun to watch, and reports and tributes have stated that he was gentleman who was held in high-regard.

Rest in Peace Andy. You were always kind, generous, helpful and allowed me to witness some of the best ball striking in my life. Debbie and girls, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We had a lot of great memories from our days of junior golf and high school golf. It was a wonderful experience and privilege to play alongside Andy on the 1971 Lakeland High School Dreadnaught golf team. Many great times together growing up and traveling together in high school and junior golf. May our almighty God and Savior comfort his family during this difficult time. ✝
