So sorry to hear of Andy's passing. He was a childhood friend of mine.
His Dad was like a father to me and my family. He and all of his sisters were an inspiration. I had a picture of him at the piano and with his sisters Geraldine and Salome, which I treasured.
My deepest heartfelt condolences is being sent to Andy's family from my family.
May he rest in peace as his music lives on.

I was introduced to Andy Bey by Amy in the Fall of 1974. She played Experience and Judgment every day while she meditated. I initially did not like the sound, but then it hit me, and I loved it as much as she did. It is still one of my favorite albums. I have been listening to it since I learned of his passing on Tuesday evening (April 29). Later, Andy Bey went on to record at Evidence Records (owned by Amy and her husband) they shared one of his CDs with me. Around that same time, a group of friends and I attended his concert at the Dayton (Ohio) Art Institute. It was great even though he didn't play anything from Experience and Judgment. We were able to talk to him after his performance. Rest easy Mr. Bey. Your music will last forever!
