Neil was literally my best friend for the past 43 years. We met during my Princeton freshman year in Pyne Hall and Neil quickly assumed the role of older brother to our entire entry way. Neil remained close to many of us while at Princeton and beyond.
Neil and I spoke on average 3-5 times a week for over 20 years. During my 1-2 hour daily commute around the DC Beltway I would sometimes speak with him more than once a day! Our conversations ranged from the idiotic to the sublime. We were in each others weddings. We discussed the ups and downs of parenthood. We lamented the changes in our beloved Old Nassau (like generations before us). But mainly we spoke about...nothing.
We were there for each other and that was what mattered. He was "my brother from another mother." A deeply faithful Christian, Neil was the person most excited about my own conversion and baptism in 2000.
During our phone calls we were transported back to the `80s, the sun was always shining on the lawn of Cottage Club (a Princeton eating club that Neil was a member of) during house parties and our present cares and concerns retreated into the background while we relived stupid decisions we had made at Princeton or recited Monty Python routines. Our last phone call was a week before his death. During that 45 minute call we debated for 25 minutes about which Star Trek movie was the best (I voted for First Contact while he foolishly believed it was Wrath of Khan).
The Wall Street Journal (Mar 20, 2019) featured an article about male friendship. I am blessed to have had as close a friend as Neil for 43 years...I just wished it had not ended this year. He will be missed by many members of the Princeton University Class of 1985.

Aneil was a beloved member of our merry band of PhD students at the University of Michigan in the late 1980s/early 1990s. So smart and engaging, he seemed perfectly suited for a career blending research, teaching, and service that was grounded in the real world of business. He leaves a legacy in all of those areas, but his love of Karen and his children is what stands out more to me. A wonderful person who touched so many people, Aneil will be deeply missed and remembered with great fondness.

Aneil had this warm and wonderful personality and positivity when I first met him. He had a super sharp wit as well! I don´t ever remember a time when he wasn´t smiling. His smile was even bigger when he was around Karen. It was so obvious how much he loved and adored her. Those two were like little teenagers in love. He will be terribly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. God´s peace be with him and all who loved him.

I met Aneil when he applied for a position at WPI. We connected based upon our mutual manufacturing careers prior to academia. We spoke on the phone a few times and intersected in the comments on a few WSJ articles. I was hopeful he would come to WPI, but not my decision. I really enjoyed the conversations we had. Genuine good guy, family man, and pious. A shock to the system to hear he´s gone. Sad day indeed.

My heart grieves over the loss of Aneil. He understood the business my dad had started and the entrepreneur that he was. I so appreciated both he and Karen´s enthusiasm for the museum and the help
they gave us with guidance, even having the students getting involved .
My prayers and comfort for Karen and their children , Maddie and Jack. . May God be glorified even at this time.

Aneil was just larger than life. Full of personality, laughter and heart. He loved his students. He loved his family so much. Karen the love of his life. Maggie and Jack. Heart broken and praying for you all. What a celebration it will be when you reunite in eternity.

I got to know Aneil when he was a PhD student. He and Karen had me over to dinner and introduced me to curry chicken. I´ve been a fan since. We kept in touch over the years but grateful we got to catch up in person when he was in Michigan several months ago. My deepest sympathies to Karen and their children.

I have been a recipient of Aneil and Karen´s generosity. Aneil always made time for a visit while in Michigan. One of my favorite days was taking our children on a campus tour in Ann Arbor reliving our college days .
Aneil you will be sorely missed because you were so well loved .

My deepest condolences to Karen and family. Words failed me in expressing the loss that I feel. May he find peace in heaven.
