Nov. 14, 1963 - Sept. 12, 2016. "Of all the creations of The Almighty there is none more beautiful, none more inspiring than a lovely daughter of God who walks in virtue with an understanding of why she should do so, who nurtures her spirit with everlasting truth." - Gordon B. Hinckley. "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies….Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come." - Proverbs 31: 10, 25. A devoted wife, mother, engineer and educator, Angela Britton passed into the arms of The Lord on Monday, September 12, 2016, after an 18 month battle with cancer. She was 52 years old. Born on November 14, 1963, in Lufkin, TX, to parents Riley Nathaniel ("R.N.") Mangus and RaNell Grimes Mangus - a surveying draftsman and a homemaker, respectively - Angela was the youngest of three daughters. Her sisters, Theresa McGallion (and husband Gene) and Ragena Thompson (and husband William "Bubba") both now survive her. Growing up in Lufkin, Angela played flute in the Lufkin High School band and was a member of countless academic societies before graduating in 1982. A meticulous person by nature, Angela had always been gifted at problem solving and mathematics, so after high school, she pursued her Mechanical Engineering degree at Texas A&M University and graduated in 1987. She received her Professional Engineering License in 1993. While living in College Station as a student, Angela also attended Twin City Church of Christ, where she met her husband, Steve Britton; they were married August 3, 1985. Later, two sons joined their family: Steven James Britton (and fiancée Claire Gaughan) and Richard Samuel Britton. While Angela had thoroughly enjoyed working as an engineer for TAMU, once she became a mother, she devoted her full-time attention to her boys as she homeschooled them from elementary grades through high school. In fact, she continued tutoring other homeschool students in math once her sons graduated. Alternatively, Angela was a passionate Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader (of Troop 743) and taught skills like sewing and leatherwork. As an engineer who loved to work with her hands, she enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, baking and gardening - both she and Steve were Brazos Valley Master Gardeners. Indeed, her favorite colors were Earth tones, especially shades of brown. Angela's most beautiful life event occurred as she accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ and chose to become a Christian. Thus, Angela was a faithful daughter of God: beautiful, vibrant and selfless in the way that she cared for others. She was an exceptional bible student and was devoted to serving The Lord in every aspect of her life. She taught children's and young ladies Bible classes throughout her married life and served as an exemplary elder's wife. She also enjoyed passing on homemaking skills, such as bread breaking and sewing. She mentored many young ladies in her congregation teaching them by word and example how to be loving and devoted help meets to their husbands. Always unforgettable, Angela is remembered fondly by her loving family, including her best friend and sweetheart of 31 years, Steve, sons James and Sam, in addition to her future daughter-in-law, Claire, and the many members of her church family at Twin City Church of Christ. Her two sisters and brothers-in-law - Theresa & Gene and Ragena & Bubba - as well as her four nephews and two nieces also mark Angela's passing. Angela was predeceased by her father R.N., while her mother RaNell survives her. Join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Angela Britton, beginning with Visitation on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Hillier Funeral Home in College Station from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday, September 16th at Twin City Church of Christ in College Station. Angela will be laid to rest in Lufkin at Fielder Cemetery on Saturday, September 17th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider directing memorial donations to Hospice Brazos Valley (502 W 26th St., Bryan, TX 77803, or call 979.821.2266). I'm so sorry to learn of her passing. I've thought of her so often over the years. Her name has always been the one I give for the security question..."who is your favorite teacher?" I never liked math but I liked HER. She was the reason I would go to class. She was and always will be my favorite teacher. My condolences to her family.

God bless.
