Angela G. Cook-Herbert

Angela G. Cook-Herbert, affectionately known as Ange, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023, at the age of 68. She was born on May 2, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Herbert and Inez Cook. Angela's infectious smile and vibrant personality touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a sweet and intuitive soul, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.

Angela was a devoted wife of 42 years to Harold B. Herbert and a loving mother to her children, Toy L. Cook, Vintacha D. Herbert, and Eugene A. Cook. Angela is also survived by her siblings Herbert Cook Jr., his wife Belinda, Ronald Cook, his wife Phyllis Payne, Larry Cook and Donna Johnson. She cherished her role as a grandmother to nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, sharing a special bond with her granddaughters Angela A. Gay and D'Netrah Shamberger. Angela also had a cousin and lifelong friend, Patricia Davis, and godsons, Louis Benoit and Cash Murray.

Angela is preceeded in death by her mother and father Inez and Herbet Cook. Also preceeding her is her son Di'Maggio Cook, her sisters Betty Hallett, Lynnette H. Bradfield, Jackie Cook and Tammy Robinson.

Angela held various positions and careers in her professional life, but she found true fulfillment as a home caregiver. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of those she cared for, and her impact will be remembered by all.

Angela's educational journey began at Jackson Elementary and continued at Rosevelt High. She furthered her education at American River College.

Angela had a creative side and enjoyed various crafts, including beading and pottery. Her artistic talents brought joy to those around her.

The visitation for Angela G. Cook-Herbert will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 4520 Salem Ave., Trotwood, OH 45416. Funeral services will commence at 12:00 PM. Following the services, Angela will be laid to rest at VA National Memorial.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Kettering Health Cancer Care Center in memory of Angela.
