Catherine McGARVEY Obituary
McGARVEY Catherine (Cathie) McVey (nee Johnston) (Blackfriars Street / Prestonfield) Peacefully at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, on June 2, 2008, aged 88 years, wife of the late Bill McVey and the late Joe McGarvey, loved mother of John, Eileen, Brian, Joseph, Patricia, Anne, grandmother to her nineteen grandchildren, great-grandmother to her twenty four great-grandchildren, mother-in-law to Betty and Somploy McVey, sister to Anne, Margaret and the late Bertie, Fred and Jimmy, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt of the family. Sadly missed. Funeral Mass on Monday, June 9, at 12.30 pm in St Patrick's RC Church, Cowgate, and funeral thereafter to Mortonhall Cemetery for 2 pm. Cathie will be received into church on Sunday evening at 6 pm. RIP.
