Angelo Pedroncelli Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 20 to Dec. 21, 2008.
Age 79, a native of Kenwood California and resident of Sonoma, passed peacefully into the glory of the next life at his home, on December 15, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by those who loved him. Angelo worked for the California Department of Forestry; was Chief of the Glen Ellen Fire Department; was a Fireman at the Sonoma Developmental Center Fire Department; and was Fire Chief of the Valley of the Moon Fire District. He was a member of the California Fire Chiefs Association and served as a fireman for more than 38 years. His devotion to the fire service defined his career and his work relationships. Angelo also served as a director of the Valley of the Moon Water district for 12 years. Angelo, and his wife Phyllis, began their family journey together on Garric Avenue in Glen Ellen. They welcomed their children Claudine, Laurie, and Dan to their lives in Glen Ellen. Their three children added fun, joy and excitement to their beloved family home. Angelo heartily welcomed friends to join his family for dinner, laughter and fun. A proud and devoted father, Angelo instilled in his children the value of hard work that included picking prunes, cleaning bricks, and stacking firewood, much as his father and uncle instilled in him. Angelo loved to talk and never knew a stranger. He attended the Glen Ellen Congregational Church and Upper Lake Community Church. He always loved to listen to Christmas and Christian music on the radio feeling the joy of the holidays. Angelo is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Phyllis of Sonoma; his daughter Claudine Pedroncelli of Upper Lake and grandson Angelo C.R. Clouse of Yuba City, his daughter Laurie Bray (Rich), granddaughter Monica Bass all of Sonoma, grandson Michael John Stchison, Jr. of Rohnert Park, grandson Omar Paz, Jr. and Raquel Paz of Sonoma, his son Dan Pedroncelli of Sonoma and granddaughters Cindy Pedroncelli of Lakeport and Chelsea Pedroncelli of Upper Lake; his great-grandchildren; Jake and Paige Pruitt of Lakeport. Angelo is also survived by his brother, Edward Pedroncelli and family of Sonoma, and is preceded in death by his sisters Catherine Serres of Sonoma and Lena Colgate; by his brothers, Frank Pedroncelli of Stockton, Chelso Pedroncelli and Raymond Pedroncelli. Angelo's life will also be celebrated by his many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 16290 Arnold Drive, Sonoma, CA 95476. A gathering in his honor will be held immediately following the service at the Church. Private Interment at Santa Rosa Memorial Park, Santa Rosa, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Hospice by the Bay, 190 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476 or to the Glen Ellen Congregational Church, or to the Sonoma Fireman's Association. Take time each day to remind your loved ones how much they mean to you, and show your love continuously. We love you, Dad.
