Angus McCallum SIMPSON

Angus McCallum SIMPSON October 11, 1929 - July 5, 2015 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angus McCallum Simpson of Ottawa and Westmount (QC) on Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the age of 85. Angus was loved and is survived by his wife, Jeanie, the love of his life, with whom he traveled the world, and his dear cousin, Joyce. His many friends, loyally gathered throughout his lifetime, mourn his passing. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil Olga (McCallum) and Walter Stewart Simpson of Westmount (QC).

While Angus had many interests throughout his life, he found a particular enjoyment in cottage life, boats and antique cars. He was a proud member of the Royal Saint-Lawrence Yacht Club in Montreal. Angus loved animals, particularly their cats and his unforgettable pet, Lady Humphrey, a stubborn, faithful, and very amusing black Scotch terrier, who had enriched his life for many years. Angus will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and enjoyed his always generous hospitality at the cottage in the summer and in their city home throughout the remaining seasons of every year. A voracious and constant reader and knowledgeable historian, his friends took great pleasure in discussing events of the day, literature, and politics with him, always peppered with a wicked sense of humour and spiced with hearty laughter.

Friends will be received at the Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Boulevard in Orleans on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11 a.m., prior to funeral services at 12 noon. The interment-of-ashes ceremony in the family plot will take place at The Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal at a later date.
