I am Babe Jackman's daughter. My mother posted condolences yesterday and I wish to as well. We all knew and loved Ann because she and my mother kept in touch and visited each other from time to time. She will be missed. I am attaching a photo - one of the many that we have of Ann. She is with my mom and her cousin.

I have known Ann since we were teenagers. I am now 90, almost 91 years old; a year older than Ann. We were best friends when we were young and remained best friends throughout our lives. Over the years, when we were both raising our families in different parts of the country, we stayed in touch. When our children were grown we were able to spend more time together - I visited her in Vancouver, Palm Desert, and Bowen Island; she visited me in Toronto; and we had several wonderful trips together to places like Ireland. I will never forget my memories of Ann. She was such a wonderful person and we had such fun together. Everywhere we went we stirred up excitement - we both so enjoyed life.
My last visit with Ann was in Vancouver a few years ago when my daughter, Terri, brought me from Toronto. We had a great visit but we both knew that it likely would be the last trip across the country because travelling had become so difficult for both of us. I will treasure my memories of Ann. I have very few friends of my age left. Ann was one of my closest friends and I will miss her terribly. I send my condolences to her family. Babe Jackman (Agnes Tully).

Ann will be fondly remembered as my Vancouver Mom. She was a wonderful gracious lady. Through her knowledge and generosity, I learned to enjoy opera, sharing the experience with her daughter, my dear friend Margaret. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family, especially Margaret and her children and grandchild.

Dear Margie,
I was saddened to read of your Mom's passing and want to send my warm condolences to you, your children and your extended family.
I have fond and humerous memories of the few occasions that I was fortunate to spend with Ann. There are always people who have a lasting impression of one's life and she was one of those for me.
As the days pass with this new reality of life without your mother, I know that your wonderful memories will surround you and give you comfort.A grand lady who will be missed.
Please know that I am thinking of you, my old friend........

On several occasions over the years, my wife Lupe and I had the good fortune of spending time with Ann at her home in Vancouver and here in Toronto. She was always generous and warm hearted and during each of our visits she never failed to ask about our sons, Sebastian and Liam. Lupe was thrilled when Ann asked if she could buy two of her paintings. Ann did buy two of Lupe's most colourful works which have hung in her living room these past years. We're happy to have known that we were able to bring some joy to her life in return for the kindness and generosity she shared with us. My thoughts are with you Bev, Dorothy and Greg. Love, Danny Cushing (Toronto, ON)

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Please accept our sympathy for the loss of your, Mother, Grandmother, and a dearest friend

As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens.

She was a source of inspiration for me. I will never forget her.

We will always have the very best memories of Auntie Ann - her love of the arts, her curiosity, her sense of fun - her ear to ear smile. All the members of her immediate and extended family are lucky to have had her in our lives.

Our words to describe Ann would be "A Grand Lady". We knew her briefly on Bowen Island and always enjoyed when she shared her thoughts and opinions at the many gatherings she welcomed into her home. We relied on her sound wisdom and the island "tipped" a bit when she left. Our condolences to all of Ann's family. Angela and Jeff Scouten
