Charleston - Ann Finch Bishop, known affectionately as "Gran Gran," passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, in Charleston, SC, at the age of 89. Born on February 16, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC, to Maurice and Era Finch, she carried the maiden name Finch with grace throughout her life.

Ann dedicated her life to her faith, her family, and serving others with a gentle spirit and loving heart. Her days were filled with acts of kindness, a testament to her deep faith and commitment to her community. She was known for her sweet smile and the simple yet profound acts of love she shared freely with all she met.

An avid reader and an accomplished baker, Ann's pound cakes were legendary in her family and community, often serving as the centerpiece at gatherings. Her home was a welcoming space where warmth and the scent of freshly baked goods were constant.

Ann's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Denise), Scott (Mary Ann), Jerry (Dottie), and Brian (Angie); her eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Mary, Katie, Lauren, Ben, Shannon, Chase, and Madison; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, Charles R. Bishop, and her brother, Richard Finch.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Ann's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your church or to a charity of your choice, continuing Ann's lifelong practice of generosity and support for the community.
