In memory of

Ann E. Dibert

Add memories that will last forever

Not sure what to say?

June 22, 2009

Amy & Scott,

I also was a fellow classmate of your mother at Shade High School, and was lucky enough to have reconnected with her a couple of years ago. I just found out about Ann's passing and was very saddened. I will always remember her gift of gab, constant smile and her ability to find good in all.

May your many memories comfort you and my prayers are with you all.

I'm a high school classmate of Ann's. I remember most fondly all of the typing she did for the school newspaper while I was editor. Those were the days of "dummy typing" - sans computers. She was a hard worker, a cooperative staff member, and a kind and good friend to all of us. I wish I had had the opportunity to continue our relationship and that time and distance had not intervened. It is apparent from all of the other messages that Ann has fought the good fight, completed the race, and has remained steadfast through many trials in doing so. God's blessings and peace to your family as you heal from her loss. Take comfort in the witness of her life and the promise of eternity.

Ann and I have known eachother forever it seems. I have photos of us together from preschool birthday celebrations on through grade school and high school, teaching at Shade. I was fortunate to have reconnected with her after the passing of Wayne and with our mutual dear friend Ruthie. I will miss her dear smile and never ending chatter. She was truly loved by all who knew her and especially by her God.

Dear Scott, Amy, Dan and Issac
As the years fly by, you will occasionally read these loving tributes to your mother and Nana and know that she was blessed. Last evening, as I scanned the collage of Ann's life that you lovingly created, I smiled because you all are Ann's legacy: family, faith, love, smiles, and service. The final gift you can offer to her is to remain in God's love with yourself, with each other, and with God's people. We will all remember her with smiles.....

Amy, Dan, and Scott,
I just wanted you to know that I am and will continue to hold you up in prayer in the days to come. Your mom was really special to me and taught me so much about the Lord - both in and out of the classroom. I saw in her life an unshakeable faith through the hardest times - her faith held up. Everything she taught in the classroom, she walked and lived in her life to the last day. I will be ever grateful to God for the impact your mom made in my life. She was a mentor to me. Not only did she teach me how to type, but what I learned in her Junior Bible class still stands out in my mind - as God led me to KNOW Him deeper that year. She taught me so much about FAITH. I told God yesterday that I would put her in Hebrews 11 - in the hall of faith - if I could. :) I loved your mom and will miss her. What a legacy she left!!!! Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love,

Dear Scott, Amy, and Dan,
I've lost my mutual birthday buddy! You can be sure that every November 28th I'll be remembering your precious mother, my friend and colleague at JCS. Ann loved to teach high school kids! I think every student who had her knew that! Ann was a woman who had her priorities straight. She was a woman of integrity. Ann's greatest desire was for people to personally know the love of God through Jesus Christ. She was not ashamed of that Good News and shared it with love, wisdom, and boldness. Ann fulfilled her heavenly calling and inspires all of us to do the same! Ann's memory is a blessing! But for now, we are sad and will greatly miss her! I'll miss her wit and her chuckle. I'll miss the goodness that flowed out of her. May the Lord comfort all of you with His promises and His presence and may you experience His peace.
Love and prayers,

Tammy Banks

We will fondly remember Ann from JCS years together both as patrons and staff members. The many times we laughed together, cheered our kids on in sports activities and even shedding some tears.
Ann recounted many times an incident that happened about 2 years ago, when Ann was very thin, an elderly lady asked her if she was pregnant! Oh did we ever laugh!
We enjoyed the times she would come over to chat when she was visiting Dan & Amy.
We will miss you but know that life is much better now.

Our deepest sympathy to Ann's family. She touched our lives through her work at JCS. Both of our teenage children loved her and cried when they learned she had cancer. She was one of those people that only good things are said about. She truly exemplified what a Christian life should look like. She will be sadly missed. Praise the Lord for the blessed hope of eternal life!

I was so sorry to hear about Mrs. Dibert's passing. I had her as a teacher at Shade and remember her teaching our typing class by tapping a drum stick on the desk so we would type the letters faster. She was a great teacher. I also had the opportunity to see her just a year or so ago shopping & introduced myself again since it had been 28 years since she taught me. We had a nice conversation and she hadn't changed a bit in all that time. She will be missed.

I have had the incredible privilege of working with Ann at JCS. But one doesn't just work with Ann without soon seeing Christ with skin on. She loves the Lord and therefore loves all of His people. She quickly extended a helpful hand, a word of encouragement, a prayer, a laugh and many a story! To say I was blessed to know Ann is an understatement. She has left a legacy on Earth and I don't believe she is done working for the Lord even now! Thank you Ann. You are dearly loved.

We are sad for Amy and Scott, but rejoice for Ann and Wayne, who are reunited again. They have always been a special couple, Wayne, with his infectious smile, and Ann with her warm greetings and words of encouragement. She was truly one of the best representatives for JCS...always pleasant and a great reflection of her Savior's love for others. Students, faculty and staff have been blessed by having known her.

Annie has been a part of my life since I was a child and I can't imagine her not being here. However, I feel blessed to have known her and to have shared in her life and the lives of her family that she loved so much. Annie was and is one of the most caring, kind, and loving people I have ever encountered in this world. She meant so much to my mom and I am comforted by the thought that she and Mom are in heaven together.

I am so very saddened to learn of Ann's death. We were cheerleaders together at Shade and shared so many fun times. Ann loved to laugh and that is what I will remember most about her. Ann and I were both teachers at Shade High School, and in the Fall of 1976 as that school year began at Shade, we both learned that we were pregnant! In the Spring we had our daughters two weeks apart. I have a wonderful photo of Amy and my daughter Kelly as tiny babies sitting side by side on Ann's couch. They kept sliding over before we could get the photo and Ann and I just laughed so hard it took forever to get that picture!
Ann brought joy and love to all those who knew her. My deepest condolences to her family.

I met Ann three years ago at an inservice. While on break, we got to talking and she mentioned about her church and the wonderful community of faith that was there.
I decided to try Pike Grace and found a new "family" there. I know she was always thinking about me and my journey towards Christian life. I still have a long way to go but I can thank Ann for my wonderful start.
Thank to you Ann and her family for "taking me in" and starting me on this oh so important journey. I found peace in her leaving us beause I know she is with her Lord and her dear Wayne again. Will miss her terribly...

Annie's Family,
I've known ann since kindergarden. I lived one street away. Thinking back to those days of spin the bottle only seems like yesterday. Annie always was so nice and never had anything bad to say about anyone. After high school we lost touch for awhile and then we started to meet at motorcycle rallies. She never changed. Always so pleasent. We will miss her...

I worked with Ann at Johnstown Christian School. She was like a second mom to me and she always referred to me as her "other" daughter. She was a great encourager and she was always concerned with my walk with the Lord. She was a mentor to me and I will miss her very much. It has been difficult to be at JCS without her. We always had lunch together and we laughed and cried together, often. She always reminded me that it is the Lord's will that I remain at JCS. I know that our Lord will say to Ann, "Well done, good and faithful servant". I find this peace because I know I will see her again someday in heaven.

Dear Ann's Family -

May you find comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord now. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She welcomed me at JCS with open arms. She helped me adjust to my 'new' christian life. I know I will never forget her as my teacher and friend. I pray for comfort for you all.
God Bless You
